As a traveling videographer using primarily DSLR and mirrorless cameras to document arts events, I've tried every type of bag to bring a small kit of equipment to a gig. This is the only one I will continue to buy for myself and my team. The modularity isn't a gimmick. It's an essential feature that I use all the time. There's also a hidden essential feature of the Covert if one travels with a camera through airports: it's a discreet bag that doesn't scream, "this bag contains a camera!" In other words, it lives up to its name of being "Covert." I also travel with Pelicans and I find myself getting a lot of glances from strangers who know that whatever is in a Pelican is valuable. With this bag, neither my fellow travelers nor TSA/customs are curious about the contents. I can blend in with the other tourists and get straight to work! The only thing to be careful of is not to overstuff the laptop sleeve and stress the zippers. I tend to carry my 15" laptop, iPad Pro, and lots of paper documents in that sleeve and the stress on the zipper causes failure. But that's my bad!

I love this pack, I will never own another one! I have dunked it in rivers, splashed it in the ocean, used it for university, taken it fishing/hiking/kayaking/boating. Unreal.

This bag is between 4 and 5 stars. I have not had a problem with the velcro dividers at all! I've owned this bag for over a year now. I used it as my camera gear carry on to a trip to Iceland. It has an awesome storage compartment and will literally hold EVERYTHING you need it to. Pockets galore! The only downside is that it is a little heavy to be used as a hiking pack. About double the weight you would want it to be. But this bag will take a beating! I trekked 8k to see the Navy plane in Iceland while it rained the entire time. This bag is not waterproof but does have water resistance. My gear stayed dry but you could tell it started seeping inside the bag. I think this bag is very stylish and it definitely gets the job done!

Can't remember how long ago I bought this bag for travel/camera/lens protection and so whilst now looking for a large checked luggage bag I was amused to see it's still a valid member of the Thule range. No reason not to as it's a beast! Totally overbuilt. I like to buy what you could say "heirloom quality" items rather than constantly replacing slightly cheaper (lower value items and this fits the bill. Its been around the world many times, soaked on motorbike trips, banged about and honestly still looks near new. Not much wear and tear for its age, it can't die! Takes my Rains raincoat beneath the camera puch, SLR lenses, loads of film, 15" macbook pro, few magazines, hard drives & charging cables, headphones, travel wallet plus water bottle and spare clothes. When not carrying camera equipment I unzip the separation pouch and you can stash clothes for days.

I wrote to Thule about the chest strap coming off and they sent me a new pack. I'll be taking this on some trips soon so we'll see how well these straps stay on. Thanks for standing by your product and I'd just like to mention that the dividers work very well for me. I keep a flash under the camera, a 500mm mirror, a 70 200mm zoom and a 24 70mm on my D750 and it all stays in place and it's easy to switch from one lense to the next. There's plenty of pockets for storage and an extra layer of clothiers and gloves for those winter hikes. Again thanks.

I got this bag and was super stoked to use it. When I investigated I noticed that the male end of the buckles on top were warped so much that the buckle didn't fully clip together. Huge thanks to the warranty department. They sent out a replacement bag right away!

I bought this bag to replace my daily messenger bag. I found myself travelling frequently and having to move items from my messenger to my backpack was inconvenient. However, I needed a bag that had lots of organization, clever pockets for access, laptop safety, comfortable to handle day travel, adequate room to store goods, and lastly look discrete enough to not be a "loud" statement. This bag checked off all the above. I have only a few things that are minor personal preferences I'd prefer more. The bag is incredibly stiff, which does does require a little more heft getting into them. The roll top buckles are almost too strong and hard to click into place on the fly. Not that I don't appreciate the quality of them as they are bomber, but they are difficult to push into place. The stiffness of the bag also leads to making some of the pockets seem smaller than they are as the rigidness keeps them from expanding to their full capacity however, over time the bag will probably work in a bit. These again are minor things as the bag is still so new I can't compare it to the years of work I gave my other bags. One of the most clever features, that I use to pack my lunch into is the camera compartment. I LOVE THAT. When I'm traveling it is my shoe/jacket compartment for easy grab and go. The bag is clearly durable, zippers and clips are strong, and the straps are very adjustable and comfortable. Would I recommend this bag? Absolutely! Not to mention Thule's excellent customer service was worth noting as well.

I like to travel with my camera gear in person, as a carry on. It must accommodate couple of bodies, and a few lenses, as well as enough extras (a pair of trousers, shirt, toiletries, headset, laptop etc). This one meets the requirement. Better yet, it does so by sticking to its name "Covert", without looking like a camera bag. Right size, and form. Could be a little lighter but quality can sometimes come with the price. I do with it were water proof as opposed to just resistant, or came with a rain cover. Additionally, it would have been better to have the camera pack zip open thru the top as well, to allow for easier packing. Right now, it requires me to take out all partitions and place one lens (or accessory) at a time. And likewise, requires removing partitions to get to a specific lens I may want to get to. Zipper that went thru the top as well, would have allowed to organize and get to any lens easier.

I love how this bag has a large roll top with space to store my personal items on top for my travels. Large water bottle pocket fits my 1L Nalgene bottle and the easy to pull out the detachable camera bag is great. I would like to request that it considers putting in a detachable hip belt like in the Thule Aspect DSLR Backpack series to make it easier to carry on your back for long days of sight seeing.

Great travel bag. I carry a Canon 5DMK IV w/ 24 70 F/2.8 L II attached and a wide angle. Carry plenty of other gear as well tripod, coat batteries, drinks, food, tablet. It does ok in a light rain not heavy ones. I would recommend putting a water repellent on it to help it out. Cons: wish it had a rainfly for the price, also a hip belt that would help a lot for how big the bag is. Along with that some molle style hoops would be nice in different locations to use molle attachments.

Use this for caring my photo equipment during hiking. Has nice padded camera protection and large area for jacket and other items. The slot for the laptop and iPad are nicely done and feel comfortable during the hike. Problem is that chest strap that is not that well designed. Fell off somewhere along the trail and since that time the straps never stay on. With the rate they fall off, it should be an item for purchase. Wouldn't recommend this product because of this.

Lots of space for things other than camera gear. It gets a little tight in the camera bag for two lenses and the DSLR body.
