Even though the description says it is for the A012 lens, it will work on the G2 (A041) lens as well. Lost mine somewhere along the way and decided to take the chance to see if this one worked on the G2 and it did.

Yes I would recommend this, for standing next to the camera, other wise you might need a remote trigger, or a longer cord!

No better lens cap
Like other avid amateurs I've used a bunch of lens caps over the decades.
If I had commit to just one design, this would be it. It just works really well. The ergonomics provide mechanical lens cap joy.

My favorite lens cap
Made mostly (or all?) of plastic, but the spring mechanism has a high-quality feeling and the tabs afford a very sure finger grip, and the cap latches securely onto the lens (or filter housing). Works really well in real-world conditions. Never struggled with it or fumbled and lost it, like I have with other caps with poor ergonomics. No better lens cap that I have ever used. Equal to the high quality caps supplied with M.Zuiko Pro lenses. IMO this cap would be an appropriate match for any expensive high-quality lens.

I purchased two Tamron 95 mm lens caps to replace the original that I bent when I accidentally stepped on it while traveling. There are two versions, only one was in stock, but I was assured that version would fit even though it was not the same as the original. When my purchase arrived, there were two, but one of each version. They both fit, same price.
