I bought this because I had lost the one that came with the lens before I even used it once (it had not "clicked" properly in place). But I still have never used it. In my view there are better and much cheaper options out there from ProOptics, made of rubber.

The hood is hard to find anywhere else, but luckily Adorama carries it. I broke my other hood for the Tamron 18-400mm f/3.5-6.3, so this was a great find.

The problem with this hood is that it falls off. I lost mine and when I tried to purchase one from Tamron discovered that they were out and they wanted a high shipping cost to mail it. Ordered from Adorama with free shipping. I did have too wait because it was back ordered but I was willing to do so because no one had it. Adorama shipped it immediately when in stock. Now I keep it off the lenses until I need it because it still falls off

This hood comes with the lease, but nobody but Adorama seems to sell it as a stand-alone. Lost my original hood hiking, but Adorama came through. Even Tamaron didn't sell it.
