This is my go-to macro lens. It is sharp, even at narrow apertures, and has a close minimum focusing distance. The auto-focus is slow in the macro range. However, I prefer to manually focus at these distances (and the way to switch between AF and MF is very practical). It serves nicely as a portrait and medium telephoto lens as well.

Surprisingly good for portraits as well as macro. I think a tripod is a must for sharper photos even though I didn?t use one in these shots. I?m quite happy with it. Used on Nikon D7100.

Excellent glass - just excellent. I finally, after nearly 10 years of owning a DSLR, finnnally bought a proper macro, and I could not be more pleased with Tokina?s quality from every standpoint.

I've had a few macro lenses in my time and this one is superior. Solid and sharp and comparatively light. Can't go wrong with this lens that also doubles as fine portrait glass too!

Excellent service, I like the store and I'm happy with my purchase. BUT ... make sure to have your payment card with you because although it's an electronics store the don't have the mobile tap payment method.

I think this lens is incredibly sharp considering the price. The focus motor isn't the fastest but it will get the job done. The MF/AF lens switch does feel a bit cheap but, everything else is solid and I am very happy with my purchase.

I love this lens, used on a D850 and D500. Great macro lens shot daughter prom portraits and loved the results, very sharp Only thing i dont like is the aperture rings that doesnt always lock and if it moves slightly will cause camera to show an error, but once i experienced it on both my Nikons it was easy to recognize and remedy

I love this lens, is sharp as the reviews said it would be. Is a really nice macro lens and also can be use as portrait lens; manual focus is oki, some ppl complain is a little noisy, but it doesn't bother me at all. I have a Nikon D3500, even with partial compatibility, this lens works like a charm. I highly recommend this lens.

You can elevate your photography skills with the Tokina atx-i 100mm F2.8 FF MACRO lens, a redesigned and optimized version of the widely acclaimed Tokina AT-X M100 PRO D Macro model. This lens is specifically engineered to meet the high demands of both still photographers and video content creators, making it a versatile addition to your camera gear.
Designed to fit Nikon F and Canon EF mounts, this compact medium tele macro lens is compatible with full-frame format film and digital SLR cameras. Despite its lightweight and compact design, it delivers high-resolution images, fast aperture, low distortion, and minimal falloff. The lens's beautiful soft bokeh makes it an ideal tool for a wide range of photography genres, including macro, portraits, landscapes, street art, and commercial shooting.
The optical design of the Tokina atx-i 100mm F2.8 FF MACRO lens boasts zero curvature of field and extremely low distortion, ensuring super high resolution across the entire image. It also controls chromatic aberration perfectly while maintaining low falloff. The multi-coating applied to the optical elements effectively minimizes flare and ghosting, enhancing the overall image quality.
The lens features a One-Touch Focus Clutch Mechanism, allowing you to easily switch from autofocus (AF) to manual focus (MF) by simply snapping the focus ring back toward the camera. This mechanism provides an authentic tactile MF feel with hard stops on either side of the focus range, similar to traditional manual lenses. The directional rotation of the focus ring is designed to match the direction of proprietary Nikon and Canon lenses.
The front of the lens is equipped with 55mm filter threads, which extend during focusing but do not rotate. This feature allows you to use different filters, including polarizers, for landscape or product photography. A focus range limiter switch on the side of the lens allows you to lock the lens focus into or out of the macro focusing range, preventing excessive AF hunting.
The Nikon F mount version of the Tokina atx-i 100mm F2.8 FF MACRO lens comes with a manual aperture ring based on the Ai AF Nikkor D-Type lens standard. This feature enables compatibility with a wide variety of cameras, including older Nikon film cameras. Please note that when used with Nikon DSLRs that do not have a focus motor in the camera body, such as the D3000 and D5000 series, only MF mode is available.
