The more sensitive your camera is to light, the more exposure needs to be maintained. This is where our effective and versatile filter comes in. It uses a stronger ND filter to manage exposure, eliminating the common issue of infrared pollution. While many camera manufacturers recommend the use of an IRND filter, most on the market today come with adverse side effects like color shifting. Our reliable filter, however, is different. Developed by the innovative team at Kenko Tokina, it utilizes Accu-ND Technology to create a Neutral Density filter that precisely controls the amount of light entering the lens without affecting the color. This revolutionary filter stabilizes the transmittance of color throughout the visible spectrum, eliminating the need for constant white balance adjustments and post-shoot color corrections. The 105mm Cinema PRO IRND 1.5 Filter - 5 Stops is available in two styles: round and square/rectangular. The round filter features an ND vapor deposition coating on both sides of the glass, creating a high precision, truly neutral filter. The square/rectangular filter, on the other hand, has an ND vapor deposition coating sandwiched between two layers of glass, allowing for repeated re-polishing should it get scratched, thereby extending the filter's lifespan. Unlike other IRND filters that cut the near infrared from a particular wavelength, our filter suppresses rather than cuts the infrared up to 1200nm, eliminating infrared pollution. This method is less prone to producing unwanted color shifts, making the 105mm Cinema PRO IRND 1.5 Filter - 5 Stops a superior choice for professional cinematographers.

I purchased this filter after seeing great reviews for it on Youtube, it was consistently rated better than the more expensive filters, it was not until after the purchase that I noted in a couple of reviews that these filters although excellent are somewhat fragile, in one review it was recommended that the filter only be used in studio settings. I am still happy with the purchase, I am a still photographer that uses these filters in landscape photography often in somewhat harsh environments, mountain streams and waterfalls.  Because I use this with Canon wide angle lenses I had purchased 105mm filters to go on lenses with 77mm filter threads using a step up ring to avoid vignetting, to solve the fragility problem I purchased somewhat inexpensive 105mm UV filters to protect the ND filters from the elements, I also purchased lens caps because Sigma makes a great lens cap for about $10 that fits the filters perfectly. I use a rear UV filter to further protect when not in use.
