This lens is on par or better than prime lenses although only for APS-C sensors. The optics on this lens is the same optics used on the $2400 Tokina Cinema ATX 11-20mm T2.9 lens. Skip the $700 Tamron 11-20mm.

Excellent lens! Truly great, especially for the price, but performs far above its price range. Very sharp and with very low distortion for such a wide focal range. I also like its other optical characteristics. Highly recommend!

I have not had a chance to really use this new lens very much since I got it a few weeks ago. It's a good solid lens. I am using it on my Canon 77-D and I really like the wide angle coverage from 11 to 20 mm.

It's a good lens overall all. Note that it is not-intended for full frame cameras.

after a chat with the rap on the phone we decided this was the right choice. I usually start at 12mm, to avoid vignette, but ive used it for events and real estate already. The glass gives a beautiful image. even though a storm made shipping challenging, the item arrived as promised. I will continue to shop with adorama, they provide the best service, products and prices.

Great lens. Built well, takes nice crisp images and is plenty wide. Lot of fun to use for landscapes. Good price, too!

Amazing. Great quality and sharp images. Took this on several hikes at the Grand Canyon and captured amazing photos. Definitely a well rounded product.

This wide angle lens was perfect for landscape and nature photography, although there is some noticeable distortion around the sides at close range and steep angles. Much less chromatic aberration than the sigma 17-50 I had before. Occasionally Canon would display error 70 after I press the shutter, so there might be some software incompatibilities between the lens and the camera. Hoping it's just me.

I purchased this item on 7/19/2020 for my D500 and I really didn't use it much until I had a trip to Utah in September. I realize no lens is perfect, but when this initially came out I was excited, and purchased it before I could find a lab tested review. That was a mistake. After shooting a few scenes and showing them to my mentor, he pointed out that my edges were really soft on one of my finer shots, and that it would disqualify me from being able to sell the print unless I added a vignette around the edge or cropped it. I shot the scene at f/16 at 14mm. It was a long exposure at the beach during sunset. The right top was soft. So after doing some research, i found a lab tested review and it turns out the best settings on this lens is 16mm @f/8. At f/11 you can see that the sharpness doesn't extend to the corners of the frame. At f/16 f/22 the center can become a little soft. However, I shoot mostly long exposures, so this setting isn't going to work for me at all. And I like to make big prints, and I like to go wide. So more than likely I will be buying another lens. For now this will do.

It is the best DX super wide lens. It can be used for astrophotography, landscape, architectural with a great price. It is a bargain. This is a must have lens for any person with a DX camera.

This lens is on par or better than prime lenses although only for APS-C sensors. The optics on this lens is the same optics used on the $2400 Tokina Cinema ATX 11-20mm T2.9 lens. Skip the $700 Tamron 11-20mm.
Take your photography and videography to new heights with the Tokina ATX-i 11-20mm f/2.8 CF lens, expertly redesigned for an enhanced user experience. This high-quality, durable lens boasts a constant f/2.8 aperture, delivering exceptional edge-to-edge sharpness and resolution for every shot. Its advanced optical design, featuring 14 elements in 12 groups, significantly reduces flare and ghosting, ensuring excellent contrast and vibrant color reproduction.
Ideal for both photographers and cinematographers, this versatile lens offers a wide cinematic feel, minimal breathing, and no edge distortion while panning. Its lightweight design and internal focus make it a reliable choice for gimbal work, providing smooth, stable footage in a variety of shooting conditions.
The lens also features a unique One-Touch Focus Clutch Mechanism, allowing for effortless switching between autofocus (AF) and manual focus (MF). In AF mode, simply snap the focus ring back toward the camera to engage 'real' manual focus control, providing an authentic tactile MF experience with hard stops at either end of the focus range, akin to traditional manual lenses. The focus ring's directional rotation aligns with the proprietary direction of Nikon and Canon lenses, enhancing user familiarity and ease of use.
The Tokina ATX-i 11-20mm f/2.8 CF lens incorporates three aspherical lens elements, including two all-glass molded and one P-MO hybrid, to achieve superior contrast, sharpness, and correction for spherical aberrations. Additionally, the inclusion of three SD (super-low Dispersion, "FK01" and FK03") glass elements effectively controls chromatic aberrations.
With super-low distortion and minimal light fall-off, this lens ensures straight lines and minimal exposure vignetting, making it perfect for architectural and landscape photography, as well as astrophotography. The lens also features a new waterproof top coat for easy cleaning and added durability. Designed for use with Nikon F-mount cameras, this lens is compatible with both full-frame and APS-C sensors, making it a versatile addition to any photographer's gear.
