Review Summary

I purchased this filter after seeing great reviews for it on Youtube, it was consistently rated better than the more expensive filters, it was not until after the purchase that I noted in a couple of reviews that these filters although excellent are somewhat fragile, in one review it was recommended that the filter only be used in studio settings. I am still happy with the purchase, I am a still photographer that uses these filters in landscape photography often in somewhat harsh environments, mountain streams and waterfalls. Because I use this with Canon wide angle lenses I had purchased 105mm filters to go on lenses with 77mm filter threads using a step up ring to avoid vignetting, to solve the fragility problem I purchased somewhat inexpensive 105mm UV filters to protect the ND filters from the elements, I also purchased lens caps because Sigma makes a great lens cap for about $10 that fits the filters perfectly. I use a rear UV filter to further protect when not in use.

Become a master of light control with the Tokina 112mm PRO IRND 1.2 Filter, a high-quality, durable, and reliable solution for cinematographers and photographers who demand precision in their work. This 4-stop neutral density filter is designed to effectively reduce the amount of light entering your camera lens, enabling the use of wider apertures and faster shutter speeds even in challenging lighting conditions.
The Tokina PRO IRND filter stands out in the market with its innovative Accu-ND Technology, which ensures a truly neutral color balance by controlling light transmission without affecting the color spectrum. This technology is a game-changer for professionals who require consistent performance without the hassle of color shifting or the need for constant white balance adjustments.
Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, the Tokina PRO IRND filter is available in both round and square/rectangular formats to suit a variety of shooting styles and preferences. The round filter features an ND vapor deposition coating applied to both sides of the glass, ensuring high precision and a truly neutral density effect. The square/rectangular variant boasts a unique construction with the ND coating sandwiched between two layers of glass, allowing for re-polishing in the event of scratches, thereby extending the filter's lifespan.
Unlike other IRND filters that cut near-infrared light at a specific wavelength, the Tokina PRO IRND filter employs a suppression technique to control infrared light up to 1200nm. This method avoids the common issue of unwanted color shifts associated with cutting techniques, making it a versatile and effective choice for maintaining true-to-life colors in your footage.
With a large 112mm size, this filter is compatible with a wide range of lenses, making it an essential tool for professionals who require top-tier optical performance. Its 4.0 out of 5-star rating reflects its status as a reliable and effective accessory for those looking to enhance their image quality without compromising on color fidelity.
Choose the Tokina 112mm PRO IRND 1.2 Filter for a seamless integration into your workflow, ensuring that every shot you take is captured with the utmost clarity and color accuracy.
