FEATURED REVIEWS

Well made, good optics, easy to use, light weight, good value

By Amir N.

This is my 2nd Tokina lens, the first was a 12-28 DX, which I've used for over 2 years in real estate photography and about 800 homes shot with it. I got a D750 a couple of months ago and decided to go with the bigger brother. It's as good of a lens, really like the focus ring snapping forward or back to switch between AF and MF. I almost always shoot manual focus for real estate and some times don't want the focus ring to move, so I lock in the AF position and if the focus is moved by acci...

So much bang for the buck

By Steven S.

I purchased this lens for my "bread & butter" real estate gigs, and it gets the job done very well in that respect. The unexpected bonus was that this lens is an amazing creative tool for my "fun stuff." Build quality is excellent, barrel distortion is well controlled even at 17mm, resolution is good throughout all focal lengths and all but the widest aperture, and I noticed no chromatic aberrations. The manual/automatic focus switch is awkward (actuated by snapping the focus ring in/out, ...

Designed for Full-Frame cameras, the Tokina AT-x 17-35mm F/4 give photographers a new wide-angle option. With a focal length of 17mm at the wide side the lens yields a spectacular 103.9 degree field of view which is great for shooting in tight situations or for taking in wide expanses of space.

This compact wide-angle zoom has a bright constant F/4 aperture make viewing and auto focus possible in lower light situations but still maintaining a reasonable size and weight.

Two Super-Low Dispersion glass elements and one aspheric glass allow the proprietary optical design to achieve excellent contrast and sharpness as well as controlling chromatic aberration.

Tokina's exclusive One-touch Focus Clutch Mechanism allows the photographer to switch between AF and MF simply by snapping the focusring forward for AF and back toward the lens mount for manual focusing. Additionally the mechanics have been designed for better seals around moving parts making the lens more water-resistant* than lenses of the past. The lens is also designed to stand up to the rigors of daily use by photographers in a wide variety of shooting conditions and environments.

* The AT-x 17-35 is only water-resistant, not water-proof and is not designed tobe submerged or used unprotected in heavy rain.
