I purchased this lens for Astrophotography and as a walk around landscape lens. So far it has been quite satisfactory. The only complaint I have, and it's a minor one, is that the AF is a bit noisy compared to other lenses - it has a sort of "scratchy" sound. Highly recommended.

If you are looking for a 20mm wide angle lens then this is the sharpest 20mm by anyone. Bokeh is excellent too. It's manual focus but easy to focus and the distance scale is correct.

Bought the AF version to use with a7Rii. I was considering between this lens and Nikkor 20/1.8, since I also use Nikon body. The Commlite AF adapter works so the only issue was either native or adapted use. I did not consider any MF lens as I wanted to use it wide open most of the time for indoors and low light situations. There are two negatives though: 1) AF makes noise such that it will get picked up in a video, 2) AF-C jitters, even after the FW update. It works flawlessly for still images using AF-S. The optical quality is excellent and is almost as good as the SEL55/1.8 in terms of rendering and sharpness across the frame - almost. The size is significantly smaller than other AF options too, which balances well with a7 series bodies. Aside from those two negatives (I know it can be a huge depending on your use...), its a wonderful lens.

While I'm more than happy with the lens, when I tried to buy a filter for it, Adorama said it was "backordered". At the same time, they were advertising the same filter on eBay at a higher price, and said they had more than 5 in stock. I don't appreciate that type of business. They denied my purchase (advertised) in order to sell others at a higher price. I informed my friends on camera forums and my photographic society.

I purchased this lens primarily for architecture/real estate work. I couldn't be happier! I considered this lens and the Loxia and also getting an a6000 with the 12mm Rokinon. The Rokinon seems to have some CA, blooming and minor barrel distortion issues, but very sharp. I have only had the lens for a few days. I haven't observed any CA, or barrel or pincushion distortions. One reviewer has describe a hint of distortion.... but I don't see more than a hint. The lens is also very sharp, but I shoot at mostly f8. But the shots that I have tried so far at f2.0 look perfect in the center and even out to the center edges. The corners are soft and a bit smeared at f2, but they get better as you stop down and virtually perfect at f5.6. The feel of the lens is outstanding. It reminds me of my 35mm film days, in a good way. I love having the depth of field scale, especially for architectural work. Focusing is smooth and the position of the f-stop ring makes it easy to see, and it doesn't get in the way. The lens hood is the rectangular type, which is a little weird and may take up more room in the bag. But, I like it because I can put it down on a flat, but sloping surface and it won't roll. Probably the biggest problem is that it's competition is the Loxia 21mm from Carl Zeiss. Many people believe that the 21mm Loxia is one of the best lenses that Zeiss has ever made. But, I considered the $ savings over the Zeiss to be important for me. The advantages of the Zeiss from the reviews tends to like the sun stars much better and it probably has less flaring and blooming issues. The zeiss probably has better corner sharpness, but some feel the Tokina may be sharper at f8-f11. But very close regardless as you stop down. I'm not into astro photography, although, I would like to try it. But, the Tokina appears to be a very good lens for this as well. If you want a real sharp wide angle, but don't want to spend an arm and a leg, this is a great option.

The FiRIN 20mm F2 FE MF is the premier lens in the newly established 'FiRIN' series of Tokina lenses specifically designed for mirrorless cameras (or ILCs - Interchangeable Lens Compacts). This lens marks the dawn of a new era for Tokina. The lens is a perfect match to the SONY A7 series camera bodies in terms of design, high-precision Japanese-made components and form factor.

The lens' CPU with optical correction data noticeably contributes to its easy of use and the final image inside camera.
A design devoted to manual shooting and cinema enthusiasts includes an aperture ring selector switch with 'Clicked' and 'De-clicked' settings to allow the lens to move easily between still photography and Cinema use. The lens also has a wide manual focus ring for excellent grip, aperture ring and depth of field index bar.
