Absolutely a five star lens!!
The auto focus is excellent, the colors are terrific, the edge to edge sharpness is great. Very happy with all aspects of this lens (even the weight is balanced) on my D850 with a grip. The Tokina 50mm F 1.4 Opera and the new Tamron 35mm F 1.4 are the two lenses that I use daily.

The Opera 50mm F1.4 FF lens boasts advanced features such as ring-shaped ultrasonic motors for swift, silent operation, making it an ideal choice for various photographic genres and scenes. Its innovative ELR (Extremely Low Reflection) coating, specifically engineered to target the visible light spectrum, significantly reduces reflection ratio, resulting in minimal ghosting and flare even in challenging lighting conditions.
The lens's optical construction includes three SD (Super-low Dispersion) glass elements and one aspherical glass element in the rear-focus lens group, effectively suppressing chromatic aberrations and delivering sharp, edge-to-edge images at all apertures. The lens also features a 9-blade, round-shaped diaphragm that produces naturally beautiful bokeh, enhancing the aesthetic quality of your photos.
