It's capable of controlling multiple audio sources simultaneously, providing a seamless audio experience whether you're managing stereo classical music in a dining room or handling paging and background music in a bustling restaurant.The M-243 mixer comes with balanced XLR microphone level or unbalanced 1/4" phone line level switchable monaural line inputs, and four unbalanced L/R stereo inputs with RCA-type jacks. Input 6 uniquely features both RCA type and 1/4" phone jacks connected in parallel, offering you more flexibility in your audio setup.Each input is equipped with its own volume control and a set of three assignment switches, allowing you to assign the input to any combination of the three outputs. The two monaural inputs feature an automatic compressor to prevent clipping from excessive input signals, a high pass filter to eliminate unwanted low frequencies, and a -20dB pad in the mic input circuitry for high output or close-talked microphones.The M-243 mixer also includes additional line level inputs: a L/R stereo sub-input and mono sub-inputs 1 and 2. These feed directly into the mixing buses and their associated outputs, providing a streamlined audio mixing process. The stereo sub-input is designed to feed a monaural signal to both the left and right output channels when connected to the left channel.One standout feature of the M-243 mixer is its automatic muting function. This detects signal on either of the monaural inputs and mutes any of the stereo input signals assigned to the L/R stereo output, making it ideal for priority paging or automatic program selection.The mixer also offers three sets of output mixing buses to feed the three sets of main outputs: L/R Stereo, Mono 1, and Mono 2. Each output has a separate volume control on the front panel, with the L/R Stereo output also featuring bass and treble shelving-type tone controls.Other features include colored control knobs for different control functions, a clipping indicator, an internal ground lift switch to avoid ground loops, a security cover for the assignment switches, and a power switch with a power-on indicator. The M-243 occupies only one standard 19" EIA rack and includes removable rack mounting ears, making it a reliable and versatile choice for your professional audio needs.
