For DSLR you' need sturdier model.CHRISTOPHER R : Hi! Have purchased both this GorillaPod (Original) and the GorillaPod Hybrid. The original is rated to 11.5oz (325g) while the Hybrid will hold about 2.2lbs (35oz or a kilogram.) The hybrid JUST holds my D7000 with a 18-300mm VRII lens, but you have to position it just right. The original is very strong for it's size. It definitely holds my panasonic HS250 easy and our Olympus stylus. It just MIGHT hold our D90 or my D7000 with a lightweight, prime lens like the 35mm DX 1.8f, but I wouldn't even try. Definitely worth going for the SLR-Zoom for your purpose.MARK W : No, it is really intended for smaller, lighter cameras.ANDREW R : Unfortunately no, the D7000 body weighs 24oz and will be far too heavy.
