Small lightweight and strudy. This is a great tool for the backpack when hiking to a landscape shot but where it really excels is on the ballfield.

After using this model with much success in places where a tripod was impractical (such as on the gunnel of a rubber boat) and under extreme conditions (snow and ice), I upgraded to the carbon fiber model. The CF model has improved twist locks and does not seem to get as cold to the touch in the winter. The rotating base works very well for video cameras.

I had an RK16S but left it somewhere when travelng and dodn't realize it for pver a month. I liked it so much I ordered and replaced it with the RS16SK.
