c c : Can I empty the bag and fill it with a local staple (i.e rice, beans)?CAROL L : No the bag is sealed on all four sides. It would be nice if it had a zipper so you could refill with rice, split peas or beans. That would make travel by air a lot more convenient as the bag does weight some. The camera mount is also a bit awkward as once it is attached to your camera it makes the whole set up that much heavier. Hope this helps.ROGER O : No it is sealed bag.PAVANDEEP S : I have found basmati rice works much better than sushi rice. Beans are too big and will give you gas :) Seriously, I will look and see but I don't believe there is an easy way to remove the filling...
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?CAROL L : Some areas that I shoot in do not allow you to get out of your vehicle so this makes photographing a lot more steady than just hand holding the camera.

Great for Driveby Wildlife Viewing

I bought the Omnipod a year ago mainly for a trip to Yellowstone where so much wildlife can be viewed from the roadside. It sits well over my door frame or back end of the truck and does not slide. I place my 50-500 Sigma lens and it stabilizes it nicely. I have not used the screw mount and for the most part it does not get in the way of what I want to do. The only thing I’ve noticed is that some of the gripping rubber has flaked off a little. Not enough that it has lost any gripping capabilities but does make me question how long it will take before all of the rubber comes off. Hence the 4 rating and not a 5. Aside from that, this is a must have tool for my wildlife viewing trips.
