Much smaller than I expected. Would not hold my Canon XSi with a short zoom lens. Suggest getting the next size larger. This size is better suited for small non-SLR cameras.

Using this with a Pentax istDl, and 18-55 lens, the camera drooped toward the lens, needing some shimming to get the camera level. Otherwise, very well constructed.

I ordered this thinking I could use it with my digital SLR but, no way! It's really not for my purpose. It will work nicely with a point and shoot, I imagine. I must have missed it somewhere if there was info about how much weight it would hold, but its not much. I'd recommend it only for P&S type camera.

I bought the pod before a cruise to Alaska. I would rest the camera attached to pod on the rail of my balcony (of course always keeping the camera strap around my neck) and this allowed me to take some very nice scenes at night in the towns where we docked. I plan to use it when photographing from my car window in two weeks in Glacier National Park. Very handy thing for certain uses.

The red pod is for larger cameras and camcorders. Weighing less than 1lb, the red pod is ideal when you can't use a tripod but still want sharp pictures. Thepod can be set-up virtually anywhere. If you're on the road or at home just connect your camera to the universal locking bolt, and you're ready to shoot.
