Windy W : Are the chest pockets wide enough to hold a paperback book? I find lower pockets are inconvenient for carrying and damaging to books.GORDON T : A single paperback can be placed in a chest pocket. However, the pocket cannot be closed with the velco flaps.RICHARD L : I had to test it to answer this question. Yes, the chest pockets are wide enough but not quite deep for the flaps to close over the book. The inner chest pocket was wide enough and deep enough to zip it closed. I used a 700 page paperback.PETER R : I got the medium sized vest in khaki but I am assuming that the pocket dimensions are the same. The answer to the question obviously depends on the size of the paperback book. The upper pockets are only about 4 1/2 inches wide so it would need to be a small book. The narrowest part is the elastic on top. On the back there is a pocket that will hold a library! but you will lean against it.

The Model 153, World Correspondent's Vest, is both a functional tool and a good looking addition to any photographer's wardrobe. Constructed of 100% cotton with nylon mesh vents, it has excellent yet discreet ventilation, lots of convenient pockets and is appropriate for almost any social situation or photographic assignment.

Ten pockets are featured on the front of the vest outfitting the photographer for any situation. During hot weather, two zipper vented mesh pockets open to provide cooling ventilation. Four Velcro closing patch pockets provide fast access and are large enough for nearly any accessory. Two zippered side pockets give the photographer secure space for film and accessories. Two hand warmer pockets can also be used to hold keys, coins, etc.

Three more pockets can be found on the inside of the vest. Two large pockets close with Velcro, while one closes with a zipper to secure valuables.

A large, roomy Velcro closing pocket can be found on back and discreet vented back panels provide flow through ventilation without looking like a mesh vest. Side tabs are provided so the vest can be adjusted for a custom fit. The front zips open and closed with a two-way zipper and snap tab, allowing the vest to be adjusted for perfect ventilation and comfort. Four "D" rings provide safe accessory and press pass attachment points and snap down epaulets keep camera and bag straps from slipping off the shoulder.

The World Correspondent's Vest is a "go" anywhere, handle any assignment" addition to a photographer's kit. It is comfortable, provides excellent organization and access to accessories and looks good in any situation.
