TOM N : will it hold a water bottle on the side?CRAIG R : yes, although there is no specific holder there are two heavy duty rib straps across each side..I carry a tripod on one side and a water bottle on the other. Buckling adjustable straps on each side along with aforementioned rib straps make this possible.GLENN M : It does not have a water bottle holder, although it does have attach points for various Tamrac accessories.FRANKLIN D. P : There is no pocket for a water bottle or a ring to attach one toSTEPHANIE T : The basic backpack does not have a pocket to hold a water bottle. You can purchase separately Tamrac velcro accessory pockets which attach to the outside of the backpack. One accessory pocket is a water carrier. I purchased the water carrier and it works fine.ANDREW C : It's a great bag. I never tried but you may need some clip since there is no pocket on the sideDAVID P : nope. Tried it. Won't hold it. It has two flaps on each side. No bottom to hold water bottle. Just slips through.Ralph C : Yes it can hold a standard 16 oz water bottle on either side. Could hold a medium tripod also although I never tried it.DAVID B : Yes & No.... I have (2) straps and a carabiner that I use to secure mine (32oz maleness). I doesn't have a pocket to slide one into however this pack provides so many optional pouches to attach. I've also used a 70-200mm pouch to hold my bottle as well. Hope this helps...

Excellent Back Pack

A great back pack for the photographer on the go. You can easily take a camera body or two along with a few select lenses and a couple of flashes in this back pack. You can't carry it all, but you can carry the necessities. Should you need a tad more then get a shoulder holster for a camera with lens attached to add to this back pack. Well made solid construction. Too bad it is being phased out. Get one while you can.

Excellent Back Pack for the Photographer on the move

This Back Pack is great. I can arrange precisely the items that I need to take with me and perhaps a bit more. Just the right size for travel/back packing. Anything bigger weighs you down. Anything smaller you can't fit what you want to bring with you.

Good pack

I purchased this back pack to hold my Canon 7d (with battery grip), speed light, 24-105 lens, 70 - 300 lens and 5 filters. The pack appears to be constructed very well and the interior separation devices feel strong. I have only used the pack on four or five small photo shoots and have enjoyed it. I previously used a very inexpensive "basics" pack, which I thought was good considering its small cost, however, after buying and using the Tamrac I wish I would have just purchased it initially. The size of the pack is on par with my previous basic pack, however, the Tamrac is slightly larger so I was able to transfer everything from my old pack and add a few new items (small items). Also, the Tamrac eliminates my concerns in regard to my equipment getting wet, if I happen to get caught out in the rain.

Best Investment I've made

I really think this was a good investment. I carry up to two cameras, several lenses, and flashes with me. The outer compartments make it convenient for me to grab batteries, microfiber, or my tripod.

great for everything except the laptop

the bag is great for just about everything except the laptop. It says holds most 12 inch laptops but I found it doesn't hold any. I have a 12 in HP with todays typical wide screen and the best I could do was get all but one corner in... So I tried my old Dell 12 inch with the old style screen and had exactly the same problem. The end result is it looks like it will only hold up to 10 inch netbooks... 12 inch not laptops otherwise I found it great. But I had to buy a new one with a larger laptop space. I'd give it 5 stars if it weren't for that.

Comfortable and Roomy!

Great bag! It has more than enough room for my Nikon D200, hot shoe flash, 20mm, 50mm, 12-24mm 28-70mm, and 70-300mm lenses along with inner mesh compartments for other accessories like filters, flash diffusers, batteries, CF cards, and cable releases. Can easily accommodate several lenses with one or more DSLRs. Meets airline carry on requirements. A bit bulky if you have to keep this under your seat on small aircrafts. If a tripod is attached it makes it difficult to accessed your inner compartments. Overall it's a great size and very comfortable to wear. Highly recommended

very good

i got this for christmas and it is an excellent bag. the strap design is great because even when it is full of stuff and weighs a ton it is still easy to wear and cary on your back. it holds ALOT of stuff. i really like the spots to put your tripod. The picture shows to put it in the far back but i think the side is easier to use.

Great Camera Backpack

Would recommend to any one who has to bring everything with them. Just got one and took to Yellowstone NP and hiked with it for a week. Has plenty of room and very comfortable.

This medium size pack offers foam-padded protection and quick access to multiple SLRs, lenses, flash and accessories. The main compartment is completely foam padded with numerous adjustable, foam-padded dividers to protect digital or film SLRs, 4-5 lenses and a flash. The camera with a long zoom lens attached is suspended on two vertical, foam-padded dividers that are internally reinforced with rigid plastic.

A restraint strap holds the lens firmly in place. Two Windowpane-Mesh pockets inside the front flap visibly organize filters, film and other accessories. A plastic, foam-padded platform in the bottom provides shock protection while a LockDown rain flap protects the zipper from the elements.
