Big enough to hold a Nikon D2H and a 80-200 zoom, plus two other big lenses. Attachment straps make it easy to add more lens pouches. Stays close to the body and doesn't get in the way in tight quarters.

Just the size I was looking for to comfortably and safely contain all my Canon 60D gear for DSLR hand held video while on the go. It holds the camera, 2 extra lenses, Tascam DR-07MKII, mics, cables, headphones, rig on the outside - everything in one, quick to access place. Tamrac makes the best bags, and in the USA!

I wish it was a little smaller. Bag is sturdy and useful.

I bought the Velocity bag when the clasp broke on my holster style bag of many years. I have a LowePro sling bag for big trips, complicated shoots, etc, so I wanted someting smaller for short excursions, but roomier than the holster. The Velocity is a good sized bag and fills the bill for the equipment I can carry, plus it will accomodate my camers with the battery grip attached. Construction is excellent and the bag looks and feels like it will take years of use. In addition to the single sling, the bag has a stowable waist strap for more stabilization if needed when carrying. The drawback is the main storage design. There is one main open storage area that uses two adjustable vertical dividers with Velcro attachment sides and bottom (not an easy task to place as the Velcro works well). Then three smaller horizontal dividers for custom sizing various compartments. The problem is the main compartment is accessible from the top only; anything stored toward the bottom requires unloading everything above. The top access is great for quick access to the camera, but digging for other components is a bit of a drag. This isn't a deal breaker for me, but may be for some and the online descriptions aren't very clear about it, hence the 3 rating. As a matter of fact, one artist's redition of the bag uses a cut-away view of the bag fully packed that could lead you to believe access can be made from the front.

It could use some additional pockets and a tripod and a tripod holder.

This bag can handle a D2H body with an 80-200mm f2.8 lens attached with no problem, and still have room for two extra zoom lenses. It balances well on my back and keeps the equipment close to my body. For any situations where you have to move fast, this is a good bag to use.

I have only worn this to get used to wearing a slingpack prior to taking a trip to AZ. I have been able to easily fit a body, three lenses (18-55,85 &70-300) plus a Nikon SB600 flash and numerous filters & cards with room to spare. It fits comfortably and allows for easy access to gear.

This is the best travel bag for an SLR, Lenses and some accessories. I have traveled for weeks with this bag, and it allows you to carry other things (like kids) while you are wearing it. And then when you need your camera it is a quick, and easy access to get it out.

I purchased this pack [...] in the summer of 2006 and have never been sorry for my decision. I photograph my children's high school and college baseball, field hockey and lacrosse games. The Velocity 9 is very comfortable, makes getting to my equipment easy and quick. It's unnecessary to take the pack off your back. It's super protective of my equipment. Its build is second to none. Highly recommended.

I found this pack compact and rugged, with a well designed interior layout. I use it for a single body and two to three lenses. For these minimal components it works very well. I particularly like the sling strap design which allows me to move the pack to my chest to retrieve or replace my gear without taking off the strap. One downside: I find the sling strap to be a bit uncomfortable when I carry the pack for long hikes, but since that is not often how I use it, that is not a big probem.

I do nature photography and as I also do a lot of hiking. This bag is very comfortable and I don't have to set it down to access any of my equipment. The construction is second to none.

• The Pro Sling Pack is a larger version of the popular Photo Sling Pack. It can be carried comfortably like a backpack, but can be swung around to the front to provide quick access to a pro-sized 35mm or digital SLR like a Nikon F5 and D1 or Canon's EOS 1V and 1D with a 200mm zoom lens attached. A well-padded sling strap comfortably distributes the weight, but need not be removed to quickly access photo equipment. Outside, a large mesh pocket is ideal for carrying an energy bar or water bottle, while organizer pockets inside keep a mobile phone, PDA, or photo accessories within reach. A Windowpane-Mesh pocket inside the lid stores filters. Compatible with Tamrac's Modular Accessory System components to customize this pack with Tamrac accessories.
