Robert S : I have a 1977 Remington 870 20ga shotgun, which has a smaller OD barrel than today's models. Will this work on my gun? How does it attach?JOHN D : Hey Robert, Ya... It'll probably fit. Mine went in tight. But save your $$$. Mine broke soon as I bumped the thing, the green sight tube fell out. Definitely not for home defense.VIRGIL R : The sight is attached to a black plastic tube with a slit in it. Starting at one end you push it down over the barrel until it snaps on. It has a notch at one end your bead slides into to hold it steady. It was a very tight fit on my 12 ga.. you need to get it on right the first try as it would be difficult to remove and try again. Whether or not it would fit your smaller barrel and be snug enough to not move I don't know. You might use tape if needed on the inside of the tube for a snug fit. It beats the hell out of sighting using the copper bead on the shot gun now.
Alan M : What if your shotgun has a beaded sight? Can you use this?MIKE W : yes, definately. i had a bead sight on mineANDY F : Yes you can. As a matter of fact the front of the TruGlo sight has a notch that indexes the sight using the front bead on your barrel.JEREMY B : Yes it will work. There is a notch in the front for the bead.VIRGIL R : Yes, there is a notch at the end of the sight. and the bead slides into it. Holds the sight straight.
