Shopper : Hi guys. Is the description information correct? I´m pretty sure this is a 8 tracks recorder (6 analogs mic/line inputs + 2 digital coaxial inputs). 6 analog outputs via RCA. It would be nice that you confirm this and change the information in the product description. It´s a pretty nice entry level recorder.MATTHEW D : Yes, the final two tracks either are a mix of the first six or can be patched to the S/PDIF input (this requires setting the St Rec St Mon settings to DIN [Digital Input]). The six primary (analog) inputs are four XLR/TRS combo jacks plus two TRS jacks. Definitely a good recorder for the price.

Great multi-track recording for the price

I've used this frequently on-location of independent films, concerts, and even a wedding that required five microphones. It does what I need perfectly. The only drawback is that it only has six analog inputs; you must use a S/PDIF connection to use the remain two tracks.

So far, so good

Haven't tested all the features of this recording deck yet, but it seems to work fine. The Kensington MicroSaver® Micro DS Keyed Ultrabook Lock works well with the DR-680, even when the recorder is in the case (CS-DR680).
