The Tink Tank Lens Case Duo is a genius design for the purpose, because it opens two ways. From the top and from the side. Access is easy. Materials are excellent and construction is very good.

I use the case to hold additional lens in my MindShift Rotation backpack. I can also clip it on to the hip belt of the pack with a carabiner to make an additional lens easily accessible.

With 50 years of freelance experience -- including a number of assignments for Nat Geo in harsh and remote conditions -- light weight and function are essential for my needs. I have honed my equipment down to the minimum, with many pieces home-crafted. I don't look for new equipment, but having won a gift certificate to Thinktank in a lottery I chose the lens case Duo 30 for my 11>24mm zoom, since what I was using had some limitations. Today I received the case, placed the lens in it, threaded my belt through it -- and was amazed. It is strong, exceedingly well built and padded, fast and easy to use -- and very comfortable to wear. Brilliant: a truly professional piece of equipment. Thank you.

It is much better than other pull string cases. But not big and bulky like the hard cases.

I wanted a soft case to store and carry my Arca-Swiss C1 Cube GP while not in use but also in the field. The Lens Case Duo 30 is perfect for that purpose. Granted, the Arca-Swiss Leather Cube case ($240) is striking, but the Duo is functional, protective, and rugged, and takes up less space when packing the Cube for transport. I don't use the strap as I have it attached to the belt of my Backlight. It was a great solution for me.
