I bought this bag for a trip to Peru. Needless to say, the bag was expected to do its job of protecting some very important cargo while in all kinds of conditions. I was extremely pleased with the overall utility of the bag. I could access the camera, but still felt it had a secure place to sit if I needed to temporarily set it down. The cushion in the bag kept everything safe and secure. Highly recommend.

I brought this bag to Paris last fall and used it every day!. Perfect size for the Leica Q3 and travel docs. I like that it did not scream camera bag!

I like the bag. It seems well-made (though it is still new). It is a good size for one mirrorless standard 35mm camera plus the 24-105 mm lens. But, what are those grommets for?

Love the new bag for its quality of materials and manufacture. Accomodates and D750 or a D850 with a 24-120 lens and a similarly sized extra lens easily.

I have several Retrospective bags and (mostly) love them all. I purchased the Retrospective 5 because it looked like it'd fit my F3HP and 4 primes. I wasn't wrong. The R5 is an almost perfect fit. My only issue with this bag is the tablet pocket. While I would find that feature useful in larger bags, the smaller (8" tablet) pocket isn't. It takes up too much space, so I hope that TT will/drop this "feature" from future versions.

I use this bag for my OM-1 and two lenses: 12-45mm f/4 Pro and 8mm f/1.8 Fisheye Pro. There's not much room for extras, but that's the point. It's compact like my micro 4/3 gear and suitable for long days walking. I've had this bag for about 1 year and still like it. If I expand my system, and upsize the bag, I will stick with thinkTANK. Quality is great and so are the looks.

Good, this is my second ThinkTank bag, on a smaller size in comparison to my first one, and I am happy with the recent travels with this bag. My first bag is actually more than 8 years old and served me well around the world on my extensive travels. It got holes in the corners, got weathered out, but all velcro still work good. I am not parting myself with my old ThinkTank bag at all- when I take all 3 lenses with me, I still use the old bag despite the appearance. I purchased the smaller bag for camera and only one additional lens for city travels. I enjoyed it so far

I'm not a professional photographer, I was just looking for a nice looking everyday bag that can also fit a standard mirrorless camera with an attached up to 90cm long lens + hood on, with easy access when walking. I don't bring a bunch of extra camera gear with me, I select a lens at home and keep it on. The black Retrospective 5 v2.0 surely looks good! After removing all of the removable sections, including the stiff bottom padding, it's flexible enough to be comfortable and slim when not packed full. Putting one of the thin section dividers as bottom padding on the side where the camera goes, and the angled divider a bit diagonally to hold it up, it's still quite flexible and protects the camera just enough for my needs (I'm careful with it). I can fit my keys and my (small) wallet in the zipped front pocket. There is still room for a pair of gloves, a beanie, a small umbrella and some extras, then a water bottle on the outer side pocket. Really nice! The most annoying thing is the "tablet" compartment, which I don't use. I wish so badly that it was removable and there was velcro on the wall behind it. Not only does it take up valuable space, my lens hood tend to hook onto it when putting the camera into the bag one-handedly. I'm actually considering glueing it shut. For the v3.0, please consider making it removable. The second most annoying thing is the inner zipped cover. It's a struggle to open and close (need to focus and use both hands), so I never close it. Instead, it's just in the way, even when attached to the top cover. I'm considering removing it with scissors. For the v3.0, please consider having the zipper go all the way round so it can be fully removed. Even with its flaws, it's still the best bag I could find for my needs after doing a lot of research and I'm happy with my purchase.

The bag feels and looks good, the build quality and attention to detail is great. It's just a tad on the smaller size for a full frame system with fast primes. The next size up, the retro 7 is almost twice as large as this one size between the two would have hit the perfect balance for Sony users.

I was looking for something on the smaller side that would work for a kit consisting of the Canon R6, attached 24-240mm, and either a second lens or a flash (but not both). I already had the Retrospective 20 v2 and 30 v2, but both were too large for what I was envisioning as a simple day tripper / vacationing bag. While the Retrospective line goes quite small to the model 4, I thought that would be too small, so opted for the model 5. Everything described above fits perfectly, with room to include a tablet, batteries, and other small accessories. If I need to bring more items, I can do so by putting them in the expandable water bottle pocket and/or attaching narrower Think Tank pouches like the Stuff It v3 or Phone Holster.

Great little bag. More storage than I expected. Still figuring out the best configuration for the dividers, but they give you tons of options with all the included dividers. I moved away from the ?sling? style bags because I wanted something a little more versatile, and this hit the sweet spot for being compact but able to fit a all the stuff o needed while still being very accessible. 4 stars because I really want to be able to fit my medium sized iPad in here, but can?t quite do it. It would be perfect if you have a smaller tablet.

I had recently purchased a Nikon Z 6II along with a Nikkor Z 50mm lens to use as my everyday walk-around kit. I already have several Think Tank camera bags, but they were just too large for my new Nikon kit. Being already familiar with the high quality of Think Tank gear, I ordered the Retrospective 5 V2.0 and the Z 6II with the 50mm attached fit perfect. There was also enough room for my 35mm lens, battery charger and some cleaning gear. I don?t think this would be the right bag for a full size DSLR with a lens attached, but it was just what the doctor ordered for my mirrorless kit. I ordered the camera bag online directly from Think Tank and the arrived quickly and was well packaged.

Big enough to hold my Sony RX10 and Sony RX100 with room for a cleaning kit, note pad and pencil, spare batteries, end even a small flashlight. Great closure systems, rugged strap, and attractive w/o calling attention to itself. I great bag! (And it's NOT made in China.)

My first ThinkTank product having been searching for that "perfect" (not too small not too big) camera bag for a while. The Retrospective 5 V2 has just arrived and after a little bit of self doubt (should I have bought the size 7?), I've been amazed how much I can pack into this retrospective 5 V2 bag - actually more than I'll probably take on a typical day out! Having a Panasonic GH5 with a 12-60mm as a walkabout combo, I didn't want anything too big and bulky, but I can easily get in 42.5mm and 15mm primes as well as a 35-100mm lens as well as spare batteries and filters. Or, I can swap out some of these for my 100-400mm lens according to my needs. My wife straight away said "oh I like that bag - much better than those boring black camera bags you've used before!". Yes, my first camera bag that doesn't look like a camera bag! It's light, compact and clearly built to the highest quality standard. Very impressed and very pleased with my purchase. Happy days!!

I have many of Think Tank’s products and all perform well beyond expectation from a durability, functionality, and design standpoint. As a working professional Photographer I put them to the test! The retrospective 5 2.0 is a nice addition as I use it as my “walk around” camera bag for the days I’m not shooting for a job but just for me.

I bought myself a new leather camerabag form another maker just couple months ago and started to use it and iI did not like it... So, when the handgrip broke during Christmas i decided to buy a new bag and it became the Retrospective 5 V2.0. I really liked the looks of the Retrospective series but which one to choose? The website made it pretty clear which one to choose for as I always bring a Canon 5Ds with a mounted EF24-70 - 2.8 of the L-series and a prime 35 or 50 mm of Sigma with me. as shown on the website. I decided for the Retrospective 5 V2.0. So, it was exciting when the camerbag arrived because ... would it really fit? Well it all did and besides that... The bag felt strong and protective to the camera and the rest of my equipment. There was sufficient space for an additional cloth, lenscleaning stuff, business cards etc and the still looked very good. So, a happy customer.

A month ago my car was broken into and my Lens Changer 2 bag was stolen. I replaced it with a Retrospective 5 V2.0 and couldn't be happier. The quality and features in the bag a far beyond what anyone else has to offer. It's so well thought-out out that it saves my from carrying my large, heavy backpack most of the time.

This Retro 5 is one of three retro bags that I own (I also own the retro 7 & retro 13 laptop case). I decided to use the 5 for my Mavic Mini drone because of the quality compared to the generic drone case. I divide it in three parts for the drone, the batteries in charger and the controller each in separate padded sections. The inner sleeve holds my iPad mini plus pockets for accessories. Nice bag.

I had the original retro 5 and it was my fav shoulder bag, she sacrificed herself to mold in an effort to alert us to a leaking shower fixture. With the prevalence of mold in the bag I couldn't use it for camera equipment any more. I got the new model because I missed it so much. I really enjoy having the back slot for my kindle and the new expanding outer pocket is great! The only part I wasn't crazy about was the change to the velcro silencing system. I switch between velcro or silenced frequently and liked the small tab over tucking into a pocket.

This is my 2nd thinktank bag, I have the retro 20 and wanted something smaller for travel. The retro 5 fits my 6d with 24-70 attached and a 16-35 lens perfectly in a small, discreet format yet padded in the right places. Quality is outstanding. thumbs up...

This is a fantastic bag for those get always with cameras: compacts with all the attachments, mirrorless + lenses + flash, DSLRs, lenses or small video equipement outfit. I was looking for a replacmcne for my old cam travel bag that bite the dust, and found this fantastic bag. This fella came out tops for me. It even fair better than my Domke F2! I simple love it. It could fit many of my travel gear configuration, from either mirrorless setup, dslr setup or small video gig. Look no where else! Version 2 is so much better than the earlier version. I bought two of these and I used one for my daily work! Thank you Thinktank!
