This Lens is a perfect 10-not in it's price range, not in the consumer or pro category, but for all lenses I've ever shot. What I like about the lens: 1) Build Quality- The best quality lens I've ever used. 7 Elements in 5 Groups, metal and glass material only, Aperture has half-stop clicks (10 blade aperture), focus ring has metal groves for grip and smooth with some resistance. *I accidently knocked my tripod over with my XT-4 and this lens. It fell lens first with no cap into concrete and the metal had chips and that was it-pretty incredible 2) Size and weight- Small and compact with heft to it-heavy for it's size-perfect for me-it balances well with the XT-4 3) MOST IMPORTANT-Image Quality-Nothing even comes close I've used the Canon L series 50mm 1.2 - Nikon Tokina 100mm 2.8 - Carl Zeiss 85mm 1.4 (F mount) The lens that are on the same level as this lens (These are out of production) Nikon 105mm 2.5 and the Nikon 50mm 1.4 (both of these are Pre AI Nikkor lenes) What do I mean by "Image Output?" This lens has extremely vibrant colors and good contrast. Bohek is out of this world! Out of the 100s of photos I've taken with this lens so far-there was one photo that my brother pointed out that had one spec of cats-eye Bohek (Not a problem, even I didn't notice this) This lens isn't the sharpest lens out there, so if you need tack-razor sharp this lens isn't for you. This lens in some cases is too sharp for me :) The Only New Lens for B&W Photographers PERIOD The microcontrast beats every lens I've ever tried, Including Lecia Mount Lenes! What Don't I like? The included lens cap is a metal screw style and not a quick release. Simple solution- buy a 52mm quick release cap. You might even have one lying around somewhere-I'm using a Nikon lens cap on mine.

Wonderful lens for my Nikon Zfc! It's well-made and very sturdy. Manual focusing can be a little tedious, but the results are worth the effort!

FABULOUS lens! So sharp wide open even to corners. My copy is perfectly centered. In non contrast situations it renders beautifully with deep pleasing colors and rendering. With contrast lighting has slight glow to highlights which I find appealing. This is all wide open at f/1.2 which is unbelievable.

An excellent lens for my GX85; delivers everything that it promises, fast, sharp and a pleasure to use, and Adorama's great price and fast service just made the whole experience that much sweeter.

Great value. Solid built metal. It?s heavier than my camera.

This is an OMG! lens. Sharp, fast, and a bokeh beast. I was shocked at the quality of the lens and at the quality of the photos it takes. Incredible lens, period, regardless of its low price. It's just a really nifty fifty. Focus peaking on the Nikon Zfc allows great in-focus shots. And wide open shots with extremely narrow DOF and wonderful bokeh. And, aesthetically, the silver version on the Zfc is so beautifully retro. The only trouble with this lens is that it gets stuck on my camera. ?? I have four other fine auto-focus Z lenses, but this totally manual lens is my goto lens on my Zfc. I simply love it and recommend it without reservation. RDB

The TTArtisan 50mm f/1.2 lens is worth its weight in gold! As a hobby enthusiast, I was looking for a portrait lens (50mm) to sharpen my skills and I am so happy Adorama had this lens in stock. I paired it with my Sony A7iii and could not be more pleased with the results. A big thank you for the folks who provided an honest review of this lens. Bottom line: this is an excellent lens for the price. It is well constructed with some heft to it.

It is an excellent lens to learn patience for it is manual. It has a good weight and it's pictures quality is excellent. Keep in mind that this lens produces a certain look for a particular style. With that said I believe everyone should have in their collection

Bought this lens for my Fujifilm X-T4 mainly as a portrait lens with potential for low light use in other genres after having previously purchased TTARTISAN'S 35mm F/1.4. I found it has the same, high quality construction feel as my prior purchase. As I would only use these lenses for still photography, I prefer the clicked aperature ring. The focus ring is nicely damped to hold your selected focus without being overly stiff. Image quality is impressive at this price. Manual focus aides on the camera make it easy to use manual lenses, and my X-T4's IBIS means camera shake is less of an issue at lower shutter speeds. Only quirky thing about their lenses is the screw on metal cap. As this is not convenient for quick removal/installation I bought a separate lens hood that had it's own plastic cap with pinch release. I did the same for my 35mm lens. The metal cap is only suited for secure longer term storage.

For the price, this lens is phenomenal. The colors are beautiful, the bokeh is smooth, and the lens produces a look that is just gorgeous. Manual focus with the magnifier on my A6500 works well. I?ve found it helpful to manually set the steady shot focal length to 50mm. I added it to the Function quick menu so it?s easy to change. The lens balances well on the camera body. It?s a substantial chunk of glass, so this is not a lightweight modern plastic lens. It has heft. There may be a couple of technically superior 50mm f/1.2 lenses for Sony, but not at anything like this price. I do miss having exif data for the lens to know what aperture and focal distance were when reviewing photos, but I doubt most people looking at the images will care.

Why am I rating this at 5 stars? Because I enjoy using the lens. My copy "glows" wide open, but I use that with a B&W recipe and I love it. Stopped down and it really is an excellent lens for the money. A tad heavy, but this lens is built like a tank, with all metal and glass. Focus is short and sweet and works well with focus peaking and unless you get a bad copy, you can never go wrong with it. I wish the minimum focusing distance is closer than 1.5 feet, but not really an issue for the most part. I mainly use EVF when shooting with this lens as it's easier for me and easier to focus. Colors are great and the contrast is just right. The only one lens I can compare it with is my vintage Nikkor 50 f/1.4 and I can say that the TTArtisan has more contrast and have a bit more punch on colors. It also excels in B&W. The screw on lens cap is a bit fiddly, but I have the same lens caps on my vintage lenses. I just bought a generic plastic lens cap when I'm out and about. All in all, the lens is a good buy and what's important is enjoying it and looking at the whole picture, not pixel peep. Try it and see....

Super awesome lens for an amazing price. I was nervous about quality- but I?ve been shooting professionally on this lens for over a year. I only use manual focus while shooting video- so this lens was a perfect addition to my gear collection for an awesome price.

Amazing lens for the price, great look and resolving power, excellent build quality, integrates well with Fuji XT2 and focus peaking. Slight softness wide open a edges but fantastic as you stop down. Great bokeh. Highly recommended .

Beautiful lens that doesn?t need an adapter. The F/1.2 aperture creates wonderful shallow depth of field and punchy colors. Highly recommend getting one from Adorama as they have excellent service and fast shipping.

A beautiful crafted BOKEH machine
By CHIMIN C.
A beautifully crafted lens and BOKEH maker, couldn't be happier.
An exceptional tool for portrait photography, the 50mm f/1.2 Lens for Sony E offers a full-frame equivalent focus length of approximately 75mm. This lens is designed with an advanced optical structure, featuring 7 elements in 5 groups, ensuring superior image quality and clarity.
With a minimum focusing distance of just 0.5m, this lens provides exceptional versatility, allowing you to capture stunning close-ups and detailed portraits. The F1.2 aperture is not only impressive but also highly functional, offering 1.4 times the light intake of an F1.4 lens, 2.8 times that of an F2 lens, 5.5 times that of an F2.8 lens, and a staggering 11.1 times that of an F4 lens.
The large aperture of the 50mm f/1.2 Lens for Sony E ensures excellent low-light performance, while maintaining a balance between a large aperture and image quality. This makes it an ideal lens not only for portrait photography but also for capturing still objects. The combination of a suitable focal length and a large aperture greatly expands your creative possibilities, making this lens a valuable addition to any Sony E camera kit.
