spotty reliability

i agree with the previous reviewer. I have two of these cables and neither is reliable. Not recommended.

Nice when it worked

I bought this as the USB cable that came with my Nikon D7100, was a little too short for tethering with my laptop. I went with the orange cable so it would stand out and people could see it. Half way through my first time using it, it stopped working. I restarted lightroom a few times, restarted my D7100, disconnected the cable a few times with no luck. I tried the USB cable that came with the D7100 and tethering in lightroom 5.6 started working again. I tried it on my PC and it kept saying no camera detected.

The Tether Tools TetherPro 15' (4.57m) USB 2.0 A Male to Mini-B 8-pin Gold-Plated Cable is a 8-pin tethering cable featuring gold-plated connectors to resist corrosion and enhance conductivity. The reinforced Ferrite core filters out signal noise and reduces transmission errors. The cable also has full-lined shielding to guard against external signal interference. The TetherPro USB 2.0 cable is designed as per highest USB specifications. The cable connects to the camera using the micro-B connector to ensure delivery of excellent performance.

Please Note: This cable is not compatible with Nikon D750, D5300 and Panasonic GH4. You may use the manufacturer's short cable with TetherPro Active Extension USB 2.0 Cable Orange (CU1917) or Black (CU1916) and JerkStopper Extension Lock (JS026-ORG/BLK).
