It is USB on one end and the typical mini connector to the camera. I use a D600 with a MBPro, so that is why I can't be 100% certain. In your case, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it, but to allay any concern, you could check with Nikon or a Nikon forum, or even your local camera store. Just print out the picture of the cable and take it with you. Enjoy your camera!PAUL W : Not sure. I shoot Canon. Check your camera input ports and see if you have a Mini-B 5 pin female port. Also check Tether Tools website for compatibility.KATIE S : Yes, I set up a Photo Booth with a d700 and my MacBook Pro. First thing is to check your manual and camera to see if your D700 has a USB port. A short cable for this purpose probably came with the camera. Then check to see if your Macbook pro has a standard USB receptical. If so, it should work. JOEL N : This is simply an extended USB cable with a mini end and a standard end. As long as the D700 has a mini port and the Mac has a standard port, it will work. The cable simply carries the data; it doesn't determine whether devices work. The Mac should automatically install the D700 like any other USB device. Just What I needed on the Go.

This is a great tether cord. I know some of you reading this now have been shopping around looking for something similar for a lot less ($). Take my advice, just get the right cord the first time. It is backed by a warranty and guaranteed to work. 15' is more than enough. The cord loses no speed from camera to laptop/computer. You pay for it once and have peace of mind. I recommend it.

Just what I needed

Functions well

Well made cable. Functions without problems. May seem expensive for a USB cable but this is a much higher quality cable than your standard USB A to USB mini-B connector. If you are only going a very short distance, an off the shelf cable might work but could be unreliable. I connected my Surface tablet to my Canon 5D Mark II to photograph the eclipse and it worked great.

Great Wire

Working tethered gives me many advantages. This cable works well and the 15' length works well for my application. The orange color makes it a little safer that no one will trip over the wire. The magic happens on the computer screen where i can see my photos and show my client immediately.

A must for tethered shooting

Intended use is for tethered shooting. Got the idea from an Adorama TV video on creating an automated photo booth using Lightroom. I am planning a similar setup at a wedding. The cable is sturdy and well made with sufficent length.
