That's my only concern with this cableEdward M N : Sorry to disappoint you, but yes, it's very loose and does slip out. Purchasing TT's lanyard is a less than satisfying solution as it fails to secure the connection. Cable and lanyard are now tucked away in the money-lost cabinet. I use the Nikon cable with a USB extension.Pedro R : It is a very stable cable, also very robust and made of good quality materials. You only have to choose very well which of the two versions is better suited to your camera, the two versions with different angles are important when working in landscape or in portrait positions.JERRY F : I use it with my Canon EOS 7D II while on a tripod. I have not had any trouble. But, if you are concerned, you should look into the Tether Tools Jerk Stopper. It attaches to the camera and the Micro B end to prevent accidental disconnect.

Recommended Tethering tool
This worked perfect. We were setting up a Green Screen backdrop and needed enough cord to go from camera to laptop comfortably. Ours was dedicated for a Nikon D800 and we had no issues when using it.

Helps keep me connected...
I purchased this cable so I could have something fast, flexible, and visible for location shooting. Works great except it doesn't fit in the Nikon clip that you need to hold your USB cable in their really bad USB jack. Jerk Stopper helped but what really worked was mounting my tripod plate and gaff taping the cable along the edge of the plate. That and the Jerk Stopper ended the loss of communication problem with my bodies. Cable is fast, limp, and bright enough even small children notice it. Overall if you tether this is a great cable.
