Think tank makes great bombproof products. I called to ask which bag to buy with a waist belt and was advised the 30 was the size to get. With the battery pack it's an awfully tight fit and I wish I had bought one size larger.

This is an absolutely wonderful carry solution for a DSLR or mirrorless camera/telephoto lens combination. I was looking for something to hold my Canon R7/RF100-500L combination rather than load it into a larger backpack. This fits the bill perfectly. In the shorter/closed position the Digital Holster 30 v2.0 holds the R7/100-500 (with lens hood reversed) perfectly. In. fact, there is a bit of space around the body, so I suspect an R5 would also fit well. Then when I add the RF1.4 extender (which means extending the lens out to 300mm) and extending the carry case with the clever zip-around extension, it also fits the assembled R7/RF 1.4 extender/100-500L (with lens hood reversed) perfectly. There are handy stowage compartments on the outside and one is big enough to keep the RF 1.4x extender in (if not attached to the camera), so I don't have to think about where to stow it when not in use. The construction is absolutely first class as you'd expect from Think Tank and the YKK zips all have handy "pulls" attached and the removable shoulder carry strap is very robust. A rain cover is included as well as 2 zip pockets (small and larger) and an elasticated open pocket as well. It has one removable velcro compartment divider (for shorter lenses) and a removable velcro flap inside the top cover for added protection. It also connects to their other carry systems and backpacks. Finally the streamlined design where it narrows for the lens end of the bag reduces bulk seen with some other brands. I can't fault it - highly recommended.

Love this form fitting holster that fits my long 300mm lens. Great that I can attach to the waist belt and keep it out of my way when shooting. Very well made and super camera/lens protection. The expanding bottom is a great plus for when my lens hood is on. Great product.

Think Tank's Digital Holster series are excellent for those time you need minimal gear. Well thought out and well built, they offer room for the accessories you need in a case that protects you gear from bang, bumps adn weather.

The holster is really well designed and fits my Z 8 plus the lens without hood but with filter. It is tight but will do. Perfect fit with my Z 7 and the same lens. The Z 8 is new and a bit bulkier. My wish list: Maybe fewer features (a little less weight) and a little more room.

I spent some time researching different kinds of carrying cases that I could use to carry my camera and 100-400 mm lens and settled on this product. It's very well made, with robust stitching, zippers and padding. There are certainly cheaper products out there but this one will likely last much, much longer and keep your gear safer. For the price and its intended use, it's a really high quality product.

I have a Sigma 100-400mm lens on a 90D and it fits great even with the hood on. I am getting ready for a year trip backpacking around Africa and I am limited with space since I will carrying a tent this time around. The holster fits so well with no wasted space. I sometimes will have a 24-105mm lens on or the 10-22mm on with the other lens on the bottom of the holster with it not extended and it still fits. I then just need to figure out what to do with the 100-400mm lens. One issue at a time I suppose. Amazing product!!

I?ve owned this bag for nearly 3 years. At first it was used for a Canon 80D with 100-400mm lens attached. Since then, it has been used with an Olympus OM-D E-M1 ii with 300mm prime and sometimes a TC attached. I do have the harness for it, but mainly I use it on a daily basis without any straps to protect my gear in the car. I love the compact size and ease of moving the camera in and out with a large lens attached. The storage pockets are nice and rain fly is handy. I also use a Spider holster and it will fit if rotated. Very handy!

Sometimes I just need to carry a camera with attached 70-200 and this fit the bill. It has pockets for an extra battery and some flat accessories, but if I need to bring a little more I can always attach a modular pouch like the Little StuffIt or the Flash Mob to the built-in rail, which makes it expandable and more versatile than it may appear. The pop down feature is great when I need to holster the camera with the hood attached. I like it enough I may buy the Digital Holster 20 for when I'm carrying my 24-105.

I was looking for simple bag to protect my camera and 70-200 mm lens during dingy rides from our boat to the beach. I didn't want anything big and bulky or inconvenient. This bag is perfect, basically fits right over the camera and lens and has padding for protection. And it has a waterproof cover to protect from splashing on our ride to the beach. I live on a sailboat and often leave my good camera behind for fear of getting it wet. Now I can take it with me. I love the high quality materials used for Thinktank bags. This is my second ThinkTank bag.

I have been looking for a camera bag for hiking and I finally got the Digital Holster. For me, this is the best way to keep your camera safe and easily accessible when you go hiking or bushwalking. I have done a short video to show why I love it so much. https://youtu.be/r5rFpBdhNvk

Holster holds my D3300 + Nikon 300mm f/4 + 1.4 TC + hood without taking anything off. It almost held them without zipping out the extended piece but not quite. For reference, that setup is 12" in total length. Great little bag!

I'm using this with my Nikon D 500 with a 55-300 lense, the fit is perfect with room at bottom to store a 18-55 lense. Build is exceptional with enough pockets for a couple filters and cleaning gear plus other small items. Highly recommend worth every penny.

10 months of use and I'm very happy with it. A call to ThinkTank support to see which size would fit my D600 with a 24-85mm and 70-300 mm F3.5 lenses. The tech rep got a D600 and tried it right there; I bought it (the 30) along with a Lens Changer 25 which I attached to the side of the holster. The two work perfectly together. I can carry both lenses, the shoulder strap works great and, using a web belt in some tactical/cargo pocket pants, I can carry it on my waist. That's not very often, the shoulder strap is much more comfortable but I'm now thinking about the ThinkTank pro belts. The outside web pocket is perfect for the lens cap, and it's easy to adjust the interior size for the lens by moving a velcro tab. A small zipper pocket holds lens cleaners. It's easy to yank the camera out, and keeping the zipper side on the inside keeps it more secure as well as the camera close to the body when comes out. This is my standard carry now. It's an easy pitch into and pull from the back or passenger seat, stuffs neatly under seats too. I don't carry extra batteries or cards. I'm not a pro; more a every third weekend amateur but this fits my need perfectly. I really like both the service and equipment from ThinkTank

I got the 30 v.2 and the pro speed belt new as a replacement for my crumpler top muffin 7500 for city trips. After using this bag for a half a day, I can say, never again, the bag should hold a Canon 7D with or with out a tripod plate( plate is only 8mm thick) with the ef-s 17-55 F/2.8 hood attached extended . Now it fits, but you have to push the body and lens in the bag with some force and when you want take out the camera, I have to use my 2 hands to get it out the bag , or, I have to take it with one hand, with my thumb behind the tripod plate and my other fingers behind the dial wheel and the bulb above the viewfinder, and always with some light force, because it sits to firmly in the bag and so this always take a while before I have the 7D ready to shoo. This bag is not easy in use, also every time I got the 7d + 17-55 out of the bag , the lens was barrel was extended too the 55mm end of the zoom, so it's also to small at the bottom to hold the 17-55 with hood, with out the hood, the lens fits very nice, with hood not. So the bag is to small at the bottom for a lens like a 17-55 with hood attached reversed or not, the 7D with or with out a tripod plate fits, but very snugly , but it is a pain to get it out of the bag and in the bag. The belt already have some marks on it from the bag that you can slide on it. Also you need a strap for holding the belt up, why? When you have no behinds and no hips, you can fix the belt very close , but the belt keep gliding of the hips, hey I don't have the hips of a woman, a strap is what you need to keep up the belt, but this makes it again difficult, because I bought the belt and holster for replacing a shoulder bag. Now on the other side, the material of the bag is from very good quality , Velcro on it is very good, zippers are one of the best and the stitching is from high quality. But for me, the belt lie now in my car after a half day of using, and I am back to my old heavy Crumpler bag , Because the Think Tank bag and belt is used by me , I can't bring it back to the store any more , so I have to sell it, for less money , then the almost 130 euro I paid for it ,which cost me money. I would like to love the bag and belt and the brand , but with this experience it's hard too.

Bought the bag to carry a Nikon D7000 with 70-200 2.8 VR II lens. With L-bracket on camera and tripod foot on lens the fit was way too tight - until I moved the rain cover from the side pocket to the bottom of the bag. Viola! A perfect fit! This is a very functional and well made bag that does exactly what it was designed to do.

Prior to purchasing a Digital Holster 30 V2.0, I contacted Think Tank inquiring about it fitting my Nikon D600 and AF-S NIKKOR 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR lens. Their response was prompt and accurate. The Digital Holster 30 V2.0 fits said body and lens combination with the hood installed in either position and the tripod collar rotated to 3:00/9:00 clock like a glove. Moreover, the materials and build quality are outstanding. If you want a compact bag to protect your camera and lens combination, Think Tank has to be at the top of your list.

My D300 with a 300mm f4 fits in this bag like it was custom made. There is a more storage than I thought there would be for memory cards, lens cap, etc. The zippers are good and it comes with a stowable rain cover. I might need that someday.

My complaint is that ThinkTank should provide dimensions for these products. I went by other reviews, whether a D800 would fit or not. With the extension out. I can fit a 70-200 at the bottom of the holster and still have room for the D800 with a 18-25 on top (both with hoods inverted). The Velcro dividers are easily put where you need them for added protection. With all of the pockets provided for filters and accessories, this could become a one-camera day bag (with two zoom lenses). If the top zippered opening is any smaller on the other holsters, the D800 wouldn't fit. I have a quick release plate on the bottom and it just fits. I've read that others take off their camera strap, but it's the only way I have of pulling it out - It's tight. I love the construction and ease of use. It's certainly a lot of bag to be hanging on my belt. Although it comes with a shoulder strap, it defeats my purpose of holding a second camera and 'stuff'. I wanted it out of the way, yet close by and also protected. I love it so far and would recommend it.

Lots of room to handle a D600 with 24-70 and hood in place.

Think tank makes great bombproof products. I called to ask which bag to buy with a waist belt and was advised the 30 was the size to get. With the battery pack it's an awfully tight fit and I wish I had bought one size larger.
Designed for digital SLRs, such as the Canon 5D, 10D, 20D and 30D and the Nikon D70, D80 and D200. This is the only top loading bag for an SLR being sold that can hold a 70-200 2.8 with the hood either in position or ready to shoot.
