This bag is exactly what I was looking for and it exceeds my expectations upon receiving it. It has little pockets and nooks that I did not realize it had when ordering. I would definitely purchase this bag again!!!

This is a very clever and ergonomic carrying case. Perfect for my R5 + Battery pack. Wish I had bought the belt as I was up and down and sometimes the bag would bang into things, not that it would ever hurt the camera as the bag is thick and protective. Great product and would recommend it to my friends

This is my second holster. I love the fact that they can be expanded to hold a longer lens. My Nikon Z9 with an L-bracket fits perfectly.

Neatly holds a D500 or Z7 & ext battery & 18-300 Nikon attached without expansion, and 80-400 with expansion. Not much stowage room. As an example, I could barely fit 4 batteries into the internal pocket in the lid. Has an outside pouch with a rain jacket for the holster stored inside. Can be worn on a belt. Drawback is that the shoulder strap fasteners are in the middle of sides, not the back. Perhaps this was meant for flexibility for the photographer, but it messes up the rainjacket utility, and makes it more awkward to carry. My old Tamrac had the shoulder strap fasteners on the back of the holster, and that worked very well for carry and camera accessibility. Minus 1 star for that. The strap that comes with the holster appears to be strong but does not have enough gripping power on my shoulder. I replaced the strap with an UPstrap "Mountain" immediately. UPstrap is excellent for gripping power. Never had a camera or camera holster slide off my shoulder with an UPstrap

I love this little guy. I can add my flash or another lens in a Think Tank pouch to the side and I am ready for anything. I store my camera in this at home so that it is ready when my grandkids do something adorable. It is comfortable to carry, well padded and I find that it holds everything I need securly including my phone and of course lip gloss! It is great when you are in a situation where you want your camera in hand, but want a secure place for it when you stop for lunch or a break. Love it!

I purchased this bag as this was the only holster style bag to carry my body, grip and 24-70 with the lens hood reversed. Although I haven’t tested the rain good yet, the bag is padded well and the zippers are extremely smooth. One of the features which drew me to this series of bags is the flap which protects the rear screen and buttons from the camera strap. I can leave my Peak Designs Slide attached for quick access to the camera without worrying about the buckles damaging the rear of the camera. That alone was worth purchasing this holster as none of their competitors offer this feature!

I've previously used a Think Tank Digital Holster 20 bag that I purchased for my Nikon D7000. It's always served me very well, so the selection of the larger Digital Holster 40 V2.0 was a "no-brainer" for my recently acquired Nikon D2X professional camera. The Digital Holster 40 V2.0 accommodates my D2X with lens mounted, and provides sufficient space to carry another small lens in the space beneath the padded insert inside the case, extra memory cards, a polarizing filter and my camera's neck strap (removed from my Domke neck strap swivels). This is obviously not a large bag that will provide space for multiple lens and various accessories, when I need that size of bag I'll use my Think Tank Speed Freak V2.0 shoulder bag. The Think Tank Digital Holster 40 V2.0 is, however, the perfect bag to carry for walkaround photography!

Excellent - holds D4s w/medium zoom or short tele, such as 105mm just fine. A D810 or similar sized body w/grip would work too. A smaller holster would be better for a gripless FX body.

Been having a devil of a time finding something to carry my EOS-1 DX w/ 24-70mm f/2.8 attached, along with the Kirk BL-1DX L-bracket and GPS receiver GP-E1. I bought this holster online so I wasn't sure it would fit, since the camera is so wide with all the junk I have attached. I'm happy to report that the camera fits into the bag perfectly. Eh, it is a little snug, but I wouldn't call it a tight fit. Easy to get in and out, protected like it should be. The only thing I had to do was replace my shoulder strap on the camera and move it to the bag (Peak Design strap, easy to do). Then, I just installed a hand grip strap to the 1DX. Oh, I also removed the interior camera cover flap, it just got in the way. Now I can carry my camera to more places without being worried about bashing into everything. Thanks, Think Tank!

Many reviewers complain about the minimal storage compartments (read the title above!) Perfect fit for a Nikon D750 with battery grip & a 70~210 zoom with room to spare in the extended "nose" below for a wide angle or macro lens, divided by the padded floor panel. Top center handle is handy to grab n go, sturdy shoulder strap, camera is easy in & out. The only thing I would change is the location of the strap lugs from center to corners, otherwise DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING ELSE

Likle every thing else "Think Tank" both of mine are great. One has a 24-70mm with body and the other has a body, battery grip and a 70-200. Great equipment!

I like this bag, but I'm going to repeat some of the flaws already mentioned in the other reviews. I've been using this bag every day for 3 months now with a Sony a77 w/vertical grip and a couple different tele zooms. I didn't like the strap that came with the bag so I replaced it with a Op/Tec. This is just standard procedure with any bag, unfortunately. Maybe ThinkTank could get together with Op/Tec to offer better straps...? Anyways, the new strap couldn't solve a major problem: the placement of the D rings the should strap attaches to. The bag is designed to hang and open one way, so the D rings need to be moved from the center of the bag to the inside edge, against your hip, so it rides right. This is just a no-brainer and should be obvious the moment you put the bag on. In fact, I noticed this flaw in the store, before I bought the bag, and made the purchase anyways because there wasn't another holster in this style available. I'm not a big fan of the rain cover, either. It goes in the junk pile. The side pouch is nice for a couple filters and the remote for the Sony. Would like to see a small pocket on the other side for filters or a battery. This is really a great design if you just want to take a full size camera and one big (or two small) lenses and don't need anything else. Looking forward to seeing the next evolution. I've had another brand of bags for decades and this is my first Think Tank bag. I'm impressed and will likely buy another one soon.

I purchased the 40 V2 at the same time I purchased my 70-200 2.8L IS II. Mounted to my 7D it's a perfect fit with the hood reversed and the bag full extended. I figured it wouldn't have much storage so when I use it I typically attach a Stuff It. I rarely use it as a shoulder bag though, typically it's on my chest hanging from my harness, it's a bit too bulky to hang off my Steroid and still get through some of the timber I end up in.

Decent with major flaws. I have been using this bag professionally for about 3 years. The ONLY reason I have kept it is because I can't find another holster that holds a full size SLR with grip. Best features: Holds an SLR with grip. Biz card pocket on top is a nice touch. I like the way the top flap opens. Handle on top is nice plus. CONS: side storage pocket is a miserable, pathetic joke. Can't imagine what they were thinking on that. They put it on the worst side of the bag, and left the most useful sides barren where they could have put MUCH better pockets. Total fail there. The inside pockets are better but still inadequate for professional use. The side pocket is so poorly designed that many times it gets left open without me realizing, and once a $50 battery fell out of it and got lost, which really sucked. Also, the included strap is insecure and too heavy. I grabbed it the wrong way once and the strap released itself, causing the bag to fall to the ground, which should NEVER happen, EVER. I replaced the strap with a much better, lighter, cheaper, and more secure strap. Also, the awkward curve where the holster contacts my body has a very annoying tendency to "ride up" on me. Rain pouch is silly and worthless unless you live in the Congo, and went immediately into the miscellaneous useless accessories pile, never to be seen again. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE redesign this bag with intelligent and useful side storage pocket(s). Also, maximize storage space by eliminating the curve on the contact side of the holster, making it flat against the user. Then, add more storage into that additional space. Thank you.

Will hold 300 F4 with foot/quick change & gimbal slide. Acts as travel bag for D300s w/battery grip and 70-200 f2.8 or 300 f4. Primary bag is used for everything but body/grip to limit size. Sure I could buy a bigger bag, but not cool to the idea. Think tank quality is first rate.

Fits a Canon 60D with Battery Grip & Attached EFS 18-200mm Lens perfectly but no nice compartments for extra batteries or anything else, except a large pocket under the main cover for storage cards. Design can be improved further with a zipper/velcro pocket in front (for larger items) instead of an expandable slip type and smaller pockets internally for storage cards organization. Side pocket for the weather hood is a waste as it can be used as storage for extra batteries, and the hood can be hidden somewhere else.

Well designed and special attention to detail... with a few exceptions. First off the strap loops should not be in center of bag but rather closer to body. Placed in the middle causes the bag to tug and pull against the body while walking etc. But most important, the rain cover. Nice addition. Except it doesn't fit. The cover fits over the whole body... but there is the problem of the strap loops once again being in the middle of the body. The straps themselves prohibit or rather undo the rain cover. Many, many fine details on this holster. Some fine tuning required.

I wanted a holster-type case that would fit my Nikon D7000 with the MB-D11 Grip attached. This case is also adjustable if you have a longer lens attached. It offers good protection and includes a comfortable strap. And because it is made by Think Tank, you can be assured that the quality is excellent.

V. 2 has outside flexible pouch to hold varying shape items. Can readily Lightning Flash or Modular Pouch. Will counter balance a backpack when mounted on the chest area with the proper straps(you got to have confidence to wear it like that in public), on TT or other wide belt, with shoulder strap. Yes (). Outside zippered pouch holds 2-3 77MM filters in square cases. Holds D300s with MB-D10 with Nikkor 300mm F4 lens mounted when expanded. Best thing about buying one system is that you can configure it by borrowing from other items. Top flap inside pocket useful from flat/soft items.

When I go short walks or hikes I use this holster. It fits my Canon 7D and Tokina 50-135mm with hood comfortably. There is a bit of extra room but that is OK for future camera bodies I may want to use.
