Great tool for macro lighting.

I attached this rock solid arm to an L bracket then put a Lume Cube at the end of it to help me with macro work. It works like a charm. I love how it moves and how well it locks down when I have it where I want it to be. Adjusting it in the field can be difficult because it goes totally limp when you loosen it. I need to balance my camera on my knees then have one hand controlling the end of the arm and another tightening the knob in the middle when I have it where I want it. I am not sure how much weight it will realistically hold and I am going to test it with my SB-900 flash sometime to push its abilities. I like the arm so much I am thinking about picking up a second one if I can find a good use for it.

The Tether Tools Rock Solid 11" Articulating Arm with Center Lock is designed to hold a variety of devices including iPads, tablets, phones and other light fixtures solidly in place. Easy to adjust and maneuver, simply turn the single knob to release all of the articulating joints and adjust to the new desired position or angle.

The sturdy elbow design features a locking lever control at the pivot. The arm includes two fully articulating joints at both ends and will hold any fixture up to 4.5 lbs. Two 1/4"-20 male threads on both ends of the arm enable a connection to any device with a 1/4"-20 female receptor. The 11" articulating arm is sold with a removable hot shoe adapter for camera mounting.
