On the Benro XL tripod, it does reduce the leg spread a bit (which is fine because it is a beast of a 6ft tripod in my tiny space.) It works great for me in-studio and I’m glad to have it. You will get used to the initial “grab” of the casters rotating when changing directions - I think any style industrial caster will behave this way. No assembly required, packs away nicely. I use it for stills photography on industrial carpeted floor. I like being able to swing the tripod out of the way easily and direct my subjects vs moving it by the column.
