This enhancement not only improves data signal integrity but also consolidates the wired data backhaul into a single fiber cable run, facilitating long-distance connectivity.

This all-in-one design offers a compact, efficient controller that eliminates the need for expensive cabinets, extraneous installations, and excessive maintenance. Its ruggedized case is built to withstand harsh outdoor conditions, including wind, rain, and snow. The included cable sleeve provides added protection for cables and cable openings, but can be replaced with your own conduit if preferred.

The EP-R8 offers powerful routing features such as load balancing and failover, ensuring redundancy and enhanced performance for outdoor wireless links. It can be powered by 54VDC or by PoE and can support 54 or 24V passive PoE to power all Ubiquiti products, including airFiber and airMAX.

The EdgePoint EP-R8 is equipped with an intuitive user interface, designed for easy setup and control. Accessed via a network port and web browser, this user-friendly interface provides a virtual view of the ports, displaying physical connectivity, speed, and status.

The EP-R8 offers robust routing features, including VLAN interfaces for network segmentation, static routes and support of routing protocols like OSPF, RIP, and BGP, firewall policies and NAT rules, and comprehensive IPv6 support.

The hardware of the EP-R8 includes six RJ45 Ethernet ports and two combination RJ45/SFP Ethernet ports. It also features power options like 54VDC, 6A Terminal Block, and Dual PoE Input. Nine of the RJ45 ports support PoE, providing versatile connectivity options.
