The PoE option really came in handy for me for this AP. I put an ethernet jack in our stairwell when we built our house and it worked out perfect for for this. To get the most out of the management app, you need a Windows computer and the Ubiquiti Gateway would definitely make things more handy, but its still a great Access Point.

I installed it, installed the configuration utility on windows machine and since, it has just been working perfectly on my 2 VLAN's. In my company we have installed Ubiquiti kits with 3 Access points in 2 locations and they have been working great, way better than what was before.
