A simple yet sturdy Arca compatible mobile mount.
I was looking into Arca Compatible mobile mounts and saw that this one had some great reviews around the internet. The minimalistic design an sturdy construction was appealing. The packaging was very neat but efficient. The design of the mount itself is great. Simple yet effective. The metal construction proved solid is supporting my iPhone 11 without fear of failing. I was very curious in the compatibility to Arca Swiss quick release plates which I tested out immediately. It worked well on both ball head tripod mounts I tried. The other feature that was intriguing was the built-in show mount which had some mixed reviews. I completely agree that while it will hold the majority of lighter attachments such as small portable lights (such as LITRA portable lights) I would hesitate on adding anything much bigger. The design flaw here is the knob which is used to expand and contract the mobile mount gets in the way of fully inserting any shoed device. So you end up with half (maybe 60-70%) of the shoe secured, but the remaining portion floating. I don't know if you would be able to trust attaching a long microphone on there. Overall I am happy with the mount as it would fit my needs. I wanted an Arca compatible mount which would hold a small light above it to facetime with the relatives. This gets the job done.
