jim d : Will it work for any tv set? I need one for a Sears LXI series Model No. 934-44717491.ZACHARY C : I don't have the pamphlet with me, but it came with a ton of tv codes to sort through. It may not be able to convert every single function of your old remote, but it should be able to get all core functions you need. Channel/volume +-, menu/guide/input selection, etc.ARTHUR R : I Would say Yes but remember you must have the old working remote to copy from in case the suggested ones don't.TODD F : yesMike T : I see no reason why it would not. If you can't find an exact three digit code that works, use your Sears remote and have the WR7 learn the functions from it. I've had good luck with most of my equipment but have needed the original remote in one case.
Steven O : just wondering about the remote. My channels have . like 98.3 I do not see a button on this which is normally located on the lower left of the number buttons. Can you help?RUSSELL B : Steven O I just purchased this remote last month and love it. My channels don't have a "." but if your old remote still works which I guess it does, you can program another button on the remote to act as the ".". It can learn anything from another remote. RussellBRIAN L : In the lower left-hand corner of the number pad is a key labeled '+10'. Since this remote is programmable, I have programmed that key as a '-' from the original factory remote for my device. You could essentially do the same thing for the '.' key of your original remote.ANDREW E : I'm assuming that the 'channel' buttons, when the stereo receiver is programmed to the AUD slot, would change the FM frequency. If not out-of-the-box, you could manually program them to do that using the 'learning' featureAARON G : I'm thinking you're referring to a '-' button so you can get to your sub channels? This remote doesn't have that particular button by default - very few remotes do. However, since it does have a learning function, you can learn this function from your original remote control as long as you still have it. There's a button on the lower left (below the 7) called +10. That really has no function these days unless you play CD's with more than 10 tracks. And even then it's rather redundant. I'd learn your - to the +10 button. Hope this helps!
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?TOM A : It is the only remote I have found to control your devices and Windows Media CenterANDREW E : Cheaper than other models with similar features, I liked the 'learning' ability. The backlighting is also nice, and replaced 3 of my remotes.

Liked it so much, this is my second one!

Love the backlight on the remote. Haven't found anything I couldn't program into it yet. Biggest thing is determining everything you want on it.

Media Center Works

This is the only remote that runns everything including Windows Media Center. I Love it.

Awesome remote for the price!

I am a professional A/V installer with some customers using a small system who refuses to pay a lot of money for a remote. This will solve the problem. It's easy, simple to use and it always work!

Excellent learning remote!

You simply cannot find a better learning remote at [$] than this unit, and it's superior to many learning remotes at a FAR higher price. If you don't need a fancy LCD screen, 18 devices, or 20000 possible learned commands, this remote will get the job done perfectly. I can hardly believe it's only [$]. If I had known about this remote a few months ago I could have saved myself $90 on a much more complex but ergonomically and operationally inferior learning remote with a screen. The ergonomics of this unit are near perfect regarding button size/shape/spacing/placement. It doesn't compromise function for style, as 90% of learning remotes seem to do these days. The only minor gripe I have is that the back is too slippery, compounded by the rounded back and thin top section. I think I'll find some thin rubbery sheet to apply. The backlighting is awesome, brightest I have seen and the proper red so as not to wreck your night vision. AA batteries are a plus, and only two instead of the typical four of higher end models. The button assortment is perfect for DVR as well as DVD and receivers, so I don't miss the LCD screen at all. Programming was even simpler than the two previous URC remotes I've had, super quick and easy. Supposedly this will only store 160 learned commands, but when used with the built-in codes when possible, that is more than enough for my seven devices. And who cares if it breaks in a couple years, it's [$] !! I almost want to buy a bunch just as backups.
