Overall, I'm quite in love. But like many first loves (this is my first gimbal), there are flaws. Ok, that goes for all loves, not just "first ones." It performs as advertised. I watched a LOT (all?) of the videos on YouTube about the Optimus and darned if it isn't all true (all the good stuff and a little of the not-so-good). My main complaints are not fair to the unit: the size of camera it takes and I sure wish I could put my Canon 5D3 on it. It fits my GH2 perfectly, and works really well with my 20mm lens. But I'd much prefer the new Sony's with auto focus. (Never mind that.) But when I put the Panasonic FZ1000 on there, it just BARELY fits (horizontally) and never really balances perfectly. I just can't move it laterally far enough. So that's one problem - not QUITE enough lateral movement. My only other gripe is also not fair and minor: moving the actual camera on with the sled is done by loosening the slip nut, moving the sled, tightening the slip nut, seeing if it balances, then repeating. I'd MUCH prefer if they had a screw for fine adjustment like they do on the vertical and "lateral" adjustments (whether the whole unit/arm swings side to side). But hey, for the price, I'm certainly not complaining. Just noticing. If you have a light camera, this is a mighty, mighty tool. Use it wisely.
