The EIZO CG223 is used for photo editing.  It has a 950:1 contrast ratio which gives color/B&W resolution.  It is small enough to fit on a small desk .  The hood helps with stray ambient light.

The calibration software included with the monitor works with almost any calibration device.  I used a Spyder which it recognized immediately.  The menu is easy to follow and I was ready in five minutes.

Other than the price, I have no complaints.
