7artisans Photoelectric 35mm f/2 Lens for Fujifilm X Mount

I purchased this lens for two reasons. To gain experience with manual focus lenses and to have a lens that gives more of an "old school" look to the images. I use it primarily for travel photos and find the field of view very useful for this. The 7 Artisans lens is well built overall.. It attaches securely to the camera without either excessive force required or any noticeable looseness once attached. With focus peaking options on the Fuji XT2 manual mode it is relatively easy to use and produces an image in which the focus is reasonably accurate, The focus ring on the lens is very smooth and easy to use. The aperture ring has stops uniformly spaced and does click into place at the major stops. My only complaint is that the aperture ring feels sloppy. I would prefer a little more resistance and a more definitive registration at the stop. This is the primary reason for the 4 star rating. The lens comes equipped with a metal cap and a small built in lens hood. The cap secures tightly on the lens itself but is loose if you have a filter in place. The hood is relatively small but it does work and is convenient. The images produced are very nice. There is very little distortion or chromatic aberration evident in the raw files. Jpeg images are good straight out of camera too. Overall, I am very happy with the lens.

Good value for the money. Heavy Vignetting.

The optics are fine. Sharp when you stop down like many other lenses. However, the vignette is extremely heavy. The heaviest I've seen to be honest. If you're okay with your images having that then I think it's a great lens to have casually or you want that artistic shot. I'm going to keep mine as a casual all-around shooting lens for personal photography.
