Poor Battery Charger
This is a very poor battery charger. The charger light is useless. It took over 4 hours to charge a battery that was at 45% power. Going back. Can not and WILL not recommend this charger. Totally useless.

charger sucks
hugely disappointed. i've been trying to figure out why my battery wasn't holding a charge and began to wonder if there was some sort of slow drain from the camera. finally my battery stopped charging and i realize it's the dock and not the battery. how can such a simple device that's only a few months old qrap out like this? totally unacceptable for Sony to make such a proprietary device that 1) is qrap and 2) cost 60 bucks to replace. i'll be looking for a new camera from a different brand next time.

Does what it should do
This charger is almost essential for the Sony NEX 6. The NEX 6 only comes with a USB cable for in-camera charging. This allows you to shot with one battery while the other is charging. My only nit-pick is that the charger is not smaller / thinner. It's about 3/4 of an inch think. I've got a charger for my Canon which is much smaller both in thickness and size.

Very easy to use
I really like this easy to use system. No bulky cords and quicker recharge than I expected.

Ridiculously overpriced
The price that Sony asks for this charger is at least double what is reasonable for a battery charger of this sort. This really turns me off about buying the camera. I think that Sony ought to have more sense than to try and gouge customers on accessories like this charger. It is an old, old strategy, that has been around for virtually forever, but consumers are getting smarter and are increasingly annoyed by this practice. Sony assumes that they do not lose camera sales through this practice, but they don't really have any way to know this. My bet is that the typical consumer takes a careful look at the cost of the accessories and that it influences their decision on what camera to buy. Sony has not yet figured out that consumers do this, and this might be part of the reason that they are struggling, whereas other manufacturers that do not do this kind of thing are faring much better.

Needed Battery Charger
Great for charging extra battery for my NEX6 which only takes about 300 pictures per charge.

Bought for extra charging capacity
I purchased this charger as a second source for charging the batteries of my Sony A55. The NP-FW50 battery that this replenishes takes a while to charge up. While on vacation it helps to be able to charge multiple batteries at the end of the day and not worry about setting an alarm to wake up in the middle of the night to pop the next one in.

My battery charger quit after 2 months. When placed into the charger my battery doesn't charge. It doesn't matter which outlet it is plugged into, the battery will charge in a friends charger, it isn't the battery. I have already called (at my expense) the Sony support number and they have asked me to send the charger to back (at my expense). A 10 day turn around time is unacceptable. This lack of support is why Sony isn't Apple.
