The monitor has been incredible for about 2 years then the corners have slowly started to bleed pretty significantly. It has slowly gotten worse over the past month. I guess 2 years is the life of this monitor.

Have this monitor since end of 2017 and it is suffering bad edge bleeding and image retention for the last 2 years. Otherwise the picture is great but definitely not a recommendation from my side.

Have the monitor for 3 years, and the monitor starts to bleed around the edges. Not only that, there is image retention (ghosting) issue around the edge of the monitor. Extremely disappointed with such an expensive product from LG. Looking at other comments, this problem is very consistent across everyone's monitors. So if you don't want to purchase a product that can only last for 2-3 years, please do not buy this.

I bought a second 27UD88-W after using my first one for over a year. I needed a second monitor and I compared it with two monitors from other manufacturers in the same price class running them all together on my high-end free-sync graphics card. I work a lot with Salesforce and CAD plans. My LG monitor had by far the clearest and sharpest image. It was a no brainer even the LG 27UD88 is a pretty expensive monitor.

This monitor is gorgeous. The viewing angles are good, the color is refreshing compared to other monitors, and the resolution makes it a fantastic choice for media editing or even productivity.

Purchase this to use with my 27? iMac. It?s difficult to match the Mac resolution but is a great display.

First let me say that this monitor is by far the best picture quality I have seen in any monitor in my life. The reason for the low rating however is that it is also the only monitor that suffered from the types of quality problems I didn't even know a monitor could have. All edges and especially corners of the monitor started to bleed this bright white light after about 2 years of use. It's bright enough that you actually can't see anything under those areas. The problem is consistently getting worse. I would've thrown it away if it was a cheaper monitor already.

I bought this to pair with my new Mac Pro laptop. Very pleased with the size, clarity, color and vibrancy of the monitor.

Perfect size, great color, USB-C connection. Makes Affinity Designer much more fun to use.

Let’s start with the fact that it’s in for repair. The usb-c port doesn’t work anymore and it never consistently worked. The port is great but doesn’t sprout enough power to keep a MacBook Pro charged so I still Have to use one of the ports on my mbp for charging which defeats the purpose of me buying this monitor that features usb-c charging. I have An hdmi switcher that’s much more convenient so I spent Extra for nothing. It doesn’t have a built in speaker so I’ve had to buy an external speaker and mount it with the monitor. And I have To physically reach up to control the volume. These are definitely little things. Things I thought I could Overlook when making the researched purchase that I made. But now having it out for repair and having to use the older 1080p variant which has a speaker built in and all the ports work, I’ve decided to sell this one when it gets back from repair and find something else. The positives: it looks amazing like you’d expect an LG to look!! The screen and the casing. The minimized bezel looks great even though it has a lower lip, something the 1080p variant does not. I’m not disappointed in this product other than having to send it out for repair and the repair process leaving much to be desired. If I had To do it again though, I would Not.

I purchased this product a couple of weeks ago and so far I love it! The picture is incredible, and the sound from the TV itself is surprisingly really good. I highly recommend this product!

This was an excellent addition to my home office setup, allowing me a large configurable workspace with extremely high resolution. Watch Netflix on it when not working and it handles that as well as USB-C output. Unexpected bonus was built in sound is very good. I'd listen to it before buying adding speakers.

I have this for a bit over year and the ergonomics is nice, the 4k screen itself is good on eyes, I bought this for all that plus the USB-C options. However, it's developed screen bleed bad discoloration all corners, and bit thinly along the edges as well. See picture - Really bothers me ...

Up front, I will say that I am not reviewing this monitor from a photographer's perspective. I am a photographer, but right now this monitor is part of my newly-improvised home workstation for my day job. I write code a lot more than I fiddle with photos. I wanted lots of pixels with a relatively small footprint, and this monitor delivered that with style. When I fist connected it to my Mac laptop the computer chose a ridiculously huge resolution; I had to intervene and set the display resolution to the monitor's native to allow the monitor to really shine. So here's something obvious you should consider: a small 4K monitor will have small pixels. Duh. But text on this monitor is tiny, clear, easy to read, but tiny. The monitor is sharp and competent and it has tiny pixels. The size, the tiny pixels, is exactly why I bought it. Given that I had to adjust for exactly the reason I bought this thing in the first place, this monitor has been nothing short of awesome. It works with my laptop like an old pal, and all the cables I could ever need were included. I am absolutely certain that I bought the right monitor.

Super nice product. However USB-C port gave up after 4 years of very little use. Switched to HDMI ports obviously with no charging and then they began to have issues. The init ended up in the dumpster

After 18 months of ownership suddenly started giving off a strong burning plastic smell from the vents at the back and became unusable. Expected better for the money. Been buying flatscreen TVs and monitors for 20 years and this one lasted the shortest amount of time.

Bought this monitor to use with a 2019 MacBook Pro. The clarity is amazing while viewing pictures and web pages. The inputs on the back of the monitor, USB C, USB, HDMI, Display Port, make it very convenient to hook up peripherals. The monitor also comes with and assortment of cables to accommodate various setups. Setup is very easy.

Bought several weeks ago; my laptop screen was too small; I can read the documents just fine now. Good picture and features as advertised.

I have owned this for a couple of weeks. The quality of construction and the quality of the picture are outstanding. Updating the software on the LG website is too difficult for 2019. There should be a way to click on your unit and have all desired updates downloaded and installed.

The quality of the picture is fantastic! The remote and user interface is a huge improvement over our previous LG smart TV. We love the airplay but disappointed it doesn’t have the Apple TV app as claimed by the Best Buy sales rep. Will there be an update to add Apple TV.

I've bought this monitor almost two years ago. The purpose of this monitor was to stream a video via usb-c from MBP and play on PS4 PRO. The first 6 months the monitor was connected to a MBP 13" Late 2013 via HDMI and PS4 PRO and all was excellent. Then I've got an MBP 15" 2018 and started using it via usb-c, after one month of use it was great, the image was vivid and sharp, then I noticed that all 4 corners of the monitor got the red corners and every day they got bigger and bigger, I've started google and found that I'm not the only one who has such issue with such setup. The temporary fix was to turn the monitor off for 1 month, the red corners are gone, but then if you start to use this monitor again the red corners again shows up. Don't know how to get rid off those red corners. Who knows how, please give an advice.

Had this monitor for 2 weeks. For a desktop, a separate video card would be highly recommended to bring out the best of this monitor. I initially had the Intel HD Graphics 620 drive the monitor and found occasional pauses, presumably the computer trying to keep up with the monitor graphics. Static 4k pictures were excellent however.

The screen looks good: thin edges, glossy white back. Some (possible) flaws do appear: - the content on the screen is more yellow than on my connected MacBook Pro, unclear if this is just because it's a different screen manufacturer - sometimes I don't get a signal when connecting to the MacBook Pro, unclear if it's an issue with the display, or the connected MacBook

I bought this after a lot of research to use with a new computer which I bought about a month ago. I could not be happier. I am using the Type C connection but also compared it by connecting to an older computer using an HDMI connection. This monitor came will all the cables a person could need. I did not need to purchase one thing extra.

I bought this monitor recently and la la love it! The size is perfect, the speed is great and the density of the graphics is excellent. Oh and I love the aesthetic look with my gray space MacBook Pro.

I got a new MacBook Pro with Touchbar in late 2016 and treated myself to this display to accompany it. I loved everything about it - bright, vivid colors, crisp details, one-cable charging/output, easy menus. I decided to buy a second identical one two years later. I would have given it five stars until the second one arrived. Unfortunately, the second one immediately had an issue with its coloring, with both displays set to factory default settings. I do not professionally edit photos or videos, but even simple tasks are distracting when the new display has an obvious yellow tint and the old one is a perfect white on web pages or documents. Making matters worse, my new one is still under warranty, and I have now returned it to LG twice for repair or replacement. Both times, after going through the effort of shipping my monitor, being without it for two weeks each time, and reconnecting it two two different computers (a Dell Latitude from work as well as my MacBook Pro), the same display flaw occurred. I am nearing the point of giving up. So I'd give the original display five stars, and give the newer display one star, averaging out to three stars. I have read horror stories about LG service, and I am basically living it. The second time I sent it in, the support rep said that they would probably just replace it - but they did not, they just replaced a different part than they replaced the first time. I don't see how such a visually obvious coloration flaw can pass their quality/calibration checks.

After looking at many reviews and monitors I bought this one and couldn't be happier with it. It works great with my MacBook Pro and was easy to setup with the USB-C.

Great Monitor
By Jared909
I don't know why other people are complaining. Me and a colleague both have this monitor and it works perfectly! I have tried 3 other 4k monitors (Samsung, HP, Acer) but this one is the best! It works right out of the box. The stand is great. A lot of the other stands on most 4k monitors are cheap or not sturdy. This monitor has the menu button on the bottom to switch inputs easily. I can switch between my MacPro connected with a DisplayPort cable, my 2016 MacBookPro 15" with touch bar usin...

YES! I did charge
By Peter_CV
I bought this to go along with my new late 2016 MBP with usb-c. It does charge after the 10.12.2 update. Albeit, very slow but I don't care. One cable life rocks! I do wish the USB was 3.1, but I can live with it 3.0 for what I needed. Sound works as well.
