This light seems to work fine. I?m a little disappointed because for this price I assumed it would come with the umbrella reflector. It does not. That?s not only the most disappointing thing because I?m having a hard time figuring out what Bowen?s reflector is supposed to fit with the umbrella hole in the correct spot.

Happy with this light. My first studio light and I?m up and running with it. I have Radio Poppers I used with Canon flashes and they work perfectly with this strobe. Adjustments are easy and love the modeling light. Very happy with this strobe.

So far, so good! I'm thinking of replacing the rest of my old Photoflex studio strobes with these. I like the control panel on these Godox units better than straight digital buttons. Makes it easier to adjust for various details. Getting the standard speed ring to attach was a little difficult.....seemed to be really tight but I finally got it connected. It might just be my particular unit....but If you use your equipment on location a lot and have to assemble and disassemble to transport, this could be a major pain in the butt if they're all like that.

Solid strobe. If your considering going with a constant light or the entry level strobe, spend the few extra bucks and get this. I do product and food photography, and 400W is plenty powerful. Build quality is solid and pairs easily with other Godox gear. If your on the fence... just do it. You won?t regret it.

Solid flash. Two challenges: A. putting a large Bowens mount softbox on is a little fiddly, but that can be just practice; feels like I’m going to clip the strobe head sometime or not twist it fully to make it click in. B. the screw that tightens the head around the top of the tripod feels weak and will probably strip sooner than later; wish it was a larger diameter and so would have more surface area to grip with. On a vertical tripod, that won’t matter too much but on a boom, that will fail down the line. For the price, it is a great flash, having fun using it.

This is a nice kit and a very welcome upgrade from my old system. The lights look great, perform well and have nice features. Makes my home studio look legit. The stands were also of a heavier gauge than expected which was good. I added the Flashpoint R2 transmitter to communicate directly with the flash so i can adjust groups or power from the camera xmitter. Wheel carry case is nice also, everything fits, just trying to figure out how best layout to keep it all secure inside. Christmas kit price was why I pulled the trigger.

Was looking for a budget solution to a 3d photogrammetry array, and decided on on the QS 400w for its middle ground of light output and build quality. This flash recycles faster than the spec sheet claims on 1:1 power. I have 3 of these to light the rig and all 3 at 1:1 power puts out enough light through a *heavy* diffuser to shoot at ISO 100, f22. I appreciate the 3.5mm sync terminal as opposed to the PC sync style because it allows me to use a variety of radio transceivers without buying new cables. Really pleased. The build quality is great, glad i didnt go with the flashpoints.

Easy to use, attaches to Godox's X system, and really fast recycle times. If you need something bright for studio work and don't require HSS or TTL then highly consider this one.
