About iDC PhotoVideo Zero Follow-Focus XL1 & Viewfinder for Nikon D7000
The iDC PhotoVideo System Zero XL1 Follow-Focus with Viewfinder (for Nikon D7000) is a versatile follow-focus system designed to lend cinema-like focus control to your DSLR videos. The system's gearless design means that, unlike most other DSLR follow-focus units, this one doesn't require the dedicated gears to match each lens in your kit. An adjustable focus wheel attaches to one of seven dovetail slots on the sliding focusing plate, which in turn mounts to the dedicated base plate beneath the camera.
The base plate, designed expressly for the Nikon D7000, can use any standard quick-release assembly for mounting onto a rig or tripod. It also accommodates iDC PhotoVideo's adapted Hoodman HoodLoupe, included, providing you with a larger viewfinder for even more precise focus. When not in use, the focusing wheel slides away from the lens and locks in place, or the combined baseplate/focusing plate/wheel can be removed as one piece (using an Allen wrench) for easy switching between video and stills shooting.
This XL1 version works with most wide to mid-range telephoto lenses. For smaller prime and telephoto lenses, the Standard kit - with its shorter focusing plate - may be more suitable.

- The System Zero Camera Plate accepts the Zacuto Z-Finder Pro (not included) when the Z-Finder is equipped with a Zacuto Mounting Frame SKU Z-MFS (not included). The iDC Camera plate replaces the Zacuto Gorilla Plate in this instance
- Seven dovetail slots on the XL Focusing Plate provide easy placement of the Focusing Wheel Assembly for a broad spectrum of lenses
- The sliding Focusing Plate design allows quick micro-adjustments of the Focusing Plate for lenses that fall in-between the dovetail slots
- Dovetailed slots capture the Focusing Wheel Assembly for easy adjustment
- Focusing Wheel accepts 1/2" white graphic tape for focusing marks
- The Focusing Wheel square-drive is industry standard and accepts Arri-style follow-focus Whips and Cranks
- User replaceable O-Ring. They're very tough, but if your dog chews one up, it's a snap to replace
- The optional System Zero Spacer elevates the camera and provides both 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 mounting holes for universal fitment
- Machined from aircraft-grade aluminum and finished with soft edges for sleek looks and handheld comfort
- System Zero is designed for maximum parts interchangeability with iDC's SYSTEM ONE
- System Zero may be mounted to any shoulder rig that attaches by way of either 1/4"-20 or 3/8"-16 fasteners
- System Zero may be mounted to any quick-release adapter plate by way of either 1/4"-20 or 3/8"-16 fasteners
