Cheap construction the unlach button when you puch it is stuck. Inside the body and. I have to use a flathead screw driver to lift this out of the strobe With a battery pack way much better than its own battery pack for that reason I say yes

It worked as planned. I bought this in case I ever had a battery not charged or run out. I have yet to use it in real world situation, but glad I have it as a backup. Mounts up well, built quality like the battery.

I'm sure the battery itself is fine, but I've had the latch that holds the battery on the strobe get stuck in the "pressed in" position on TWO of these units, preventing the battery from locking in place. I've tried everything to get this unstuck but not luck, without damaging the unit further. I now have to use gaffer tape to hold the battery in position so that it doesn't loose contact with the metal touch points. I've had a number of problems with this strobe... The battery issue, the case zipper, and just recently the hinge on the strobe itself broke, rendering the entire strobe since the hinge doesn't stay in place. The strobe just falls backwards and points directly up to the ceiling. The strobe is great but all the things that are needed to work in order for the strobe to do it's job are cheap china-made plastic parts that fail and make this thing an expensive piece of plastic.

Getting good results from the light so far. Controls are not as intuitive as I might like, and takes a lot of turning to adjust from top to bottom of the range. Once I'm dialed in, everything's great.

My 610RT came with one rechargeable battery, and after unpacking my gear and setting the battery on the edge of the bag, it was dropped to the floor from about 2.5 feet, and it ceased to work at all after that. DO NOT EVER drop or bump these batteries. Replacements are expensive. That being said, they last forever even at FULL POWER, and I have actually done multiple jobs without recharging (don't recommend that) and this battery gives amazing power. when charging it charges quickly and snaps into the light very firmly. Love the battery and now have two of them for my lights so I can switch them out and keep them fresh.

These work great for long sessions! The cable is plenty long too, so you're free to move the stands around, even if they are pretty high up.

The AC adapter is a must have for absolute versatility. I use AC power whenever available in order to save the batteries. I’ve been very happy with my Orlit lighting system.

I bought this unit as a just in case backup should the battery wear out on a long shoot. I haven't had that problem but having this AC option is very welcome. The unit fits where the battery attaches and it was a little stiff to snap in the first couple of times but all in all I am pleased with it.

I use my RT 610 for events and portraits and I actually find this AC adapter most helpful for events when I end up parking the strobe on a stand in the corner of the room and firing into the ceiling to fill a whole room. This allows for unlimited shots with a pretty quick recycle time. My only complaint is the same one I have with many other AC power cables for lights: when I put my strobe on a stand, the cable only gives me enough length to reach the floor, so you always have to bring an extension cable with this.

This replacement for the normal battery, when working in the studio, is a great addition. I waited almost a year for this to be available. I just used it for a daylong still life shoot, with the model light on continuously and it was great not having to worry about the battery (though I hate dealing with an AC cord, though that's the trade-off.

Although the battery pack does last long, in a studio setting one does not want to worry about the battery running flat. The modeling light can stay without worries on and that's a huge plus for me as I have a studio without daylight (on purpose, that is). And it feels kind of weird to shoot this size studio strobes without modeling light. On location the battery pack is fine but in the studio this ac-adapter really is a must-have.

Bought a spare battery for my rove light as I have been very impressed with how well it works and the batteries have been lasting through far more flashes than stated in the manual even with casual use of the modeling light.
