Remarkably good lens for night sky photography. Some slight issues in the corners, but barely noticeable. For a specialty lens to be this good and this inexpensive is almost unheard, but this lens is one of them. My one nit is that QC at Samyang is still lacking and I had to try 3 before getting one that was sharp across the frame (the others had soft corners across one diagonal indicating misalignment of optics). Still, recommended.

I was looking for a full frame ultra wide for my Sony A7SII and this fits the bill. I have the Sony 10-18mm f4 lens which has been fine but I wanted a full frame lens so I tried out the Sigma 14mm 1.8 Art Lens which is great but it's a tad bit too big and heavy for gimbal work. This lens is nice and light and seems to be pretty sharp even to the corners. The autofocus isn't the best however and I find myself leaving it turned off for video most of the time especially on a gimbal, but for photography it's been great.

I recently ventured into real estate photography and needed a good wide angle lens to truly capture an entire room without distortion or shadowing and this is it! While it is a 14mm and cannot be zoomed, it is perfect for real estate, landscaping and astrophotography! I needed to be quick while on site so this lens has an auto focus feature. I recommend practicing and getting used to the lens before a shoot, because while on AF i had to switch from AV, TV, program and automatic depending on the difficulty of light, however all of my photos turned out incredible! The images were spot-on and not stretched, and this lens is affordable with great quality!

The product came well packaged and looked excellent. My issues with it were it was soft not as sharp as I had hoped. But if you are looking for a good budget lens that has af and your not to concerned about sharpness then this lens could be for you.

Optically a good lens, not as good as the Samsung 14 f2.4 XP, but the chip causes EOS R and M6ii bodies to freeze when set to MF. This severely impairs use.

Is ok for the price, i didn't like that it came with a old firmware installed, it causes AF to work bad, after i purchase the dock and installed the new firmware AF is fine! also it was set up -4 adjustment was need it! distortion is strong so watch out!

This is a very economically comparable lens to other big name brands with higher price tags such as Sony or sigma. Obviously it won’t be as good as them but the competition won’t be fair given the price tag. I get my shots without breaking my bank and it works for me perfectly.

I got this lens for night sky photography after comparing it to similar lenses, including the Canon 14mm f2.8l, on the Digitalpicture.com website. The side by side resolution charts clearly show that this is the sharpest of the 3 Samyang/Rokinon 14mm lenses (notably sharper than the SP version), and fully on par, if not a bit better than the Canon 14mm L lens, especially wide open. As soon as I received the lens I went out and tested it on my Canon 5Dsr. It is superb. Edge to edge sharpness is great, straight from 2.8, and distortion is remarkably low (simple barrel, not the complex mustache of similar lenses) and easy to correct in Lightroom. Add to this that the kit it's bundled with is quite good (bundled kits are usually not so hot). The cleaning kit and lens pen are top quality, and the pouch and lens wrap are also quite good. The cap-keeper is a trinket I won't use and the software doesn't interest me, but all in all, a great little bundle. Back to the lens: If you're considering a super-wide lens, try this one before spending more - you'll love it.

I've used this lens now on several shoots and am very impressed with the image quality. I am used to using the manual 14mm Samyung and was happy with the image quality from that one but this one is even better, with AF and less distortion.

Pretty good so far for the price. One thing that you need to do is change the steadyshot (to 14mm) setting every time you switch in and out this lens. Maybe it's something that you normally have to do with third party lenses.

I don't want to go to technical details and everything but overall lens is ok to use but I am for sure having sharpness issues more than I was expecting. It's wide yes but definitely I am definitely having focus and sharpness issues. I am not sure if my lens is a faulty product or overall this lens has this issue but I am not satisfied.

Paired with my Sony A7ii had too many images that were soft or way out of focus. For me, the lens struggled a lot during attempts to capture high dynamic range between foreground vs background situations. I realize that it's not a high end priced lens and I shouldn't expect it but I took a chance and it just didn't work for me. It may work for other applications. I do admit that I'm relatively a beginner and need to study a wide range of this field. The lens is attractive for its price point.

I was at first skeptical about buying this lens as I always wanted to use native mount lenses. I was looking for a lens wide enough to make images and/or videos of architectures and interiors look wide. I was amazed at the images captured. A boring bedroom or living room looks huge and fascinating using this lens. Surprisingly sharp with a very slight hint of softness on the edges, which is expected of wide lenses. Definetly a keeper for me, looking for more ideas to utilize this lens.
