Good arm!
Got this to fly in a cob light using a steel Flashpoint light stand and it did not disappoint. For this application you're only gonna get a few feet (2-3) but obviously it has other functions. Arm and grip are solid; hexed tip is great and the T-handle is solid.

Great price for the arm
This is a quality arm at a great price. The clamp cannot securely hold a big softbox but it works fine for a softbox 30" or smaller.

Cost cutting measures sabotage utility
It's okay but in future I'll stick with Avenger or Matthews arms. The basic parts are there but corners were cut in important areas.
I like that the arm has 3/8 studs on both ends but for a product like this you badly need to file a surface flat so lights/scrims don't twist on the arm. Not hard to do but could be easily done in manufacturing.
The knuckle assembly is missing an indexing post by design. They saved 5¢ in aluminum doing this but it introduces a lot of slop and the grip often twists out of alignment when tightened.
Finally, there are shallow ratcheting groves molded into the knuckle assembly and not the much more standard steel washer. This will wear out much sooner AND restricts your movements with the arm to certain increments- you can't tighten it at just any angle.

Built like a tank!
Love this arm! I use it with my Flashpoint junior wheelstand. Anything made by this company is built like a tank and I know will last me for the rest of my lifetime. Comfortably holds mh Aputure 300x with any modifier. Highly recommend!

Best for my use case
I Frankenstein a stand together for my key light because there wasn't one particular stand that did it all for me. One thing I knew I wanted for sure was this grip arm. I love that it has the threaded ends and a movable gobo/grib head.. There wasn't anything else I saw that had those particular features. So in short this is the ideal grip arm for my purposes.
