About Kramer TP-573 HDMI Bidirectional RS-232 and IR Over Twisted Pair Transmitter

After enhancing your audio-visual setup with the Kramer Electronics TP-573 HDMI, Bi-Directional RS-232 & IR over Twisted Pair Transmitter, you'll experience a new level of convenience and quality. This high-performance device is designed to convert and transmit an HDMI signal (compatible up to version 1.4) along with control commands and data over twisted pair cables, such as CAT-5.

When paired with a Kramer TP-574 receiver, the TP-573 transmitter significantly extends the reach of an HDMI source, enabling it to feed a display across a large facility. Unlike standard HDMI cables that offer a limited range of approximately 50', CAT-5 cables, when used with this transmitter, can deliver high-definition video and associated audio signals over distances spanning hundreds of feet.

The transmission range of this device is variable and depends on factors such as signal resolution, graphics card, display, and cables used. Kramer has rigorously tested the device with their own cables to ensure optimal performance. The TP-573 transmitter can transmit up to 295' at 1080i, or up to 98' at 1080p when used with shielded BC-DGKat524 cable. With shielded BC-DGKat623 cable, the range extends to 295' at 1080i or up to 230' at 1080p. And with shielded BC-DGKat723 cable, the range can reach up to 330' at 1080i or up to 295' at 1080p.

One of the standout features of the TP-573 is its support for bi-directional RS-232 and infrared signals. This means that a computer source can be used to control a display device located hundreds of feet away and receive data from that device. The control signals are sent along with the converted video and audio signals over the twisted pair cable.

By supporting HDMI, the TP-573 transmitter ensures seamless pass-through of video and multi-channel audio from an HDMI source such as a set-top box, DVD player, camera, or AV receiver. This makes it an invaluable addition to any professional or home audio-visual setup.
