Better get them while you can

We are using them in school classrooms. They are perfect for our use and the price is great. Only problem is that they have been discontinued and will soon be unavailable so you better get then quick!

Great product for our needs

I looked at both the 3rd generation and 4th generation of the Apple TV and didn't need the extra features of the new 4th generation. Our needs are simple my wife and I primarily wanted to be able to use Airplay and this works great, we are using a hardwired ethernet connection. We found the interface of Netflix and the picture quality to be superior to that of the apps on our Samsung and LG smart TV's. My wife likes all the free channels, and we both enjoy the free internet radio too. We are cable cutters but we don't spend a whole lot of time in front of the TV either. We are not gamers, nor did we need more apps that are offered o the 4 gen ATV, the 3rd generation Apple TV was just the ticket for us.

Pretty Good

I purchased this item as a gift for someone for a few reason. Pro's: Easy to set up 1080p Small HDMI connection Setup was a breeze. The only trouble was remembering all the passwords. I did not get it for myself for two reasons: Cons: No USB port to play media form a portable drive Limited channels (specifically the lack of Amazon Prime since I am a Prime Member) There is a lot of content that I have on a drive and would like to watch on my TV, rather than on my computer. Apple TV does not have a USB port so I can watch my content on my TV. Also, it seems like there's a lot more free content on the Roku.

Works really well

I purchased Apple TV 1080p to replace an earlier version of this device (720p) that started getting stuck and requiring a reboot after about 5 years of use. I use Apple TV primarily to watch Netflix and HBO Go, and both of these work great with this device. And Netflix app is much more feature reach than the Netflix apps that come with smart TVs. I also use Apple TV to stream music from iTunes running on my computer to a receiver (using the optical output of the Apple TV device). This also works really well for me. The only thing I'm on the fence about this device is the remote control that comes with it. It's very slick looking and ergonomic, but a bit flimsy - the remote control that came with my previous version of Apple TV eventually developed a problem when the "up" button was very hard to press. And the remote control that came with this newer version of Apple TV looks identical to the previous model's remote. But it took years for this problem to develop, so I am not taking any points off for this.

Great Product!

We use the product to connect our HD TV to our computers to view TV and all the wonderful stuff on youtube, etc. The learning curve is almost flat. Very intuitive in most cases. The remote works well, without having hundreds of buttons. Setup was done without the owners manual. Best of all, it works!

Good picture quality but limited content

I'm an Apple freak, having all the ios device I finally decided to get an Apple TV so i can project to my TV. it has great picture quality and really responsive but it has limited streaming service and most of them need subscription.
