Excellant Choice for a Monopod

Needed a sturdy monopod for my large telephoto lens. The Manfrotto 681B fit the need perfectly. Easy adjust locks to adjust height. Sturdy enough to backpack into the Mountains. Higly recommend!

Great monopod, but careful with the clip

I bought this as a kit with tilting head. The monopod is high quality and very sturdy. Very pleased with the monopod. There is a plastic clip that attaches to the leg which is used for adjusting the nuts on the locking clamps. It just snaps onto the leg and I lost it the first day I used it. I suggest taking this off an keeping it in your camera bag. That's my only complaint.

Excellent, Fits 1/4 and 3/8

I didn't know when I bought this but the screw head is 3/8. The outer 3/8 head is spring loaded and drops down to reveal the 1/4 inch head for most cameras. Strong and light weight.

Arm saver!

I bought this to shoot a marathon, partially for extra stability, but also because I knew I'd be shooting for 6 or 7 hours with a heavy lens and flash attached. It saved my arms and shoulders. Some of the other guys shooting without support were suffering badly by the end of the event. This is a good solid support that not only held my camera up, but held me up too. It serves as a nice, solid "stick" to lean on. It says it holds 26.5 lbs, but I'm fairly certain I leaned on it with more force than that a few times. The joints lock down very solidly. Yeah, it's aluminum and may transmit vibrations more and be slightly heavier than carbon fiber, but I had no problems with weight or vibration. It feels like carrying around air compared to my tripod (which happens to be carbon fiber). I put it in my tripod bag (cuz it doesn't come with a bag or shoulder strap) and I found myself checking once or twice to make sure it was still in there. I like that there are two joints instead of three like the other similar model. It makes it a little longer when closed, but it opens very quickly. Drop the bottom extension to full, lock it, open the top one and lock it at the right height. The top lock is always in easy reach if you need to make height adjustments as you shoot.

This is Great

I am a sports photographer and this is a great product. It's strong and I have no problem having a Nikon D700 with a 100-300mm lens on it.

Does what a monopod should do.

It's a strong, stable, monopod. I really don't plan on using it a great deal...but when I need one...it will do the job. I have figured out that I need a ball-head verses the RC234 Swivel Tilt Head that I purchased with this monopod.

A beast

This is a heavy duty monopod, excellent for carrying and supporting a camera with 500mm lens, if you don't have a heavy set up, get a lighter version. Construction is excellent, lost the plastic clip on wrench the first day, dual threaded mount works with any camera or tripod head.

Strong Support

Been wanting a monopod for the times I didn't want to carry a full tripod. Not the lightest boy on the block but I liked the solid feel, the smooth action and the quality of build. Very satisfied. This gets the job done and in kit with 234Rc was a very good value.

Got it with the head. Strong but heavy compared to tripods. Ideal for hiking and going after nature shots.

Does double duty as a walking stick

I needed a good monopod after purchasing a 200MM Canon lens for those times when the light is dimmer and I do not want to use high ISO's and wide open apertures for better DOF. This is a strong Monopod, it extends quickly and the camera attaches easily and securely with the 234RC Monopod head.
