Exactly what you expect and more.

The most lightweight simple to use tripod I've ever used. I upgraded from a good tripod, the Manfrottox190ProB. Which was a great intermediate level tripod offering great stability and strength for the money... But after one too many long hikes with it strapped to my back I knew I had to upgrade to something lighter. This tripod weighs about a third of the weight of the 190xPro, and sometimes feels like its not even there at all! A little expensive yes, but it really takes the pain out of long day hikes when you really want to bring your tripod.

When weight is the big issue

This is the lightest tripod (paired with RRS BH-25) I could find that works well. It won't hold a long or heavy lens or go tall, but at almost no weight I can carry it places I would never bring anything else. Some of my local woods are dark, muddy and very slippery in winter - this is the only tripod I'm willing to take along. I use tripods all the time, but never really like to. Gitzo carbon fiber tripods with their light weight, anti-rotation legs and strength make using them as pain free as possible. Using a tripod improves many of my images more than anything else could do.

Robust & light-weight.

I use this product for backpacking. It is compact and lightweight which is essential for long trips on your feet all day. The construction is second to none! You get what you pay for and this tripod is worth every penny!
