I had big initial problems, motors starting to vibrate or jumping for nothing. Since the app available again (for so long blocked and finally re-updated by Tilta) and manually calibrated in Calibration - with motors off and camera balanced by clicking on "cal" in GYRO cal & "pan" in Zero Point - my Gravity G2x makes his job without problems.

Stay far away from this one. Ordered this gimbal on a black Friday deal and am extremely disappointed. The motors consistently cut out even though it is advertised to hold up to 8lbs. I thought maybe there was something wrong with it so I contacted support. After several days of back and forth I sent them a video of what was wrong, and they said it looked like a software problem. So I had to ship it to California on my own dime because it did not come with a return label when I received it in the mail. After a few days I get back the same gimbal I had sent; it had the slight marks from sliding my camera on and off, and some of the words slightly rubbed off on the side. Not only that, but it wasn't even fixed! Had the exact same issues as before, I don't think that is a coincidence. Support argued with me saying it's a brand new gimbal which is an obvious lie. To top it all off, the app is a beta from a long time ago that isn't even on the app store, and doesn't have an option for the g2x! I thought Tilta was a reputable brand but I guess I was wrong. You'll be much better off saving up for the Ronin.

I’ve found that my 5.6lbs camera setup is still too much for it. I’ve tried so many settings but I cannot find one that keeps the camera totally stable and doesn’t not vibrate. I often get both issues at the same time. I’ve been balancing gimbals since well before motorized gimbals existed. This is my first Tilta gimbal and I haven’t been totally satisfied. I think maybe with a smaller camera it would be great. It integrates well with the nano follow focus which is great. That’s the best part.

Great gimbal, fits the BMPCC 4k really well. Fairly easy to balance, good battery life, and it looks cool. I love the flashlight mode. The app is a little weird, I was confused at first because the G2X is not an option to pair with on the app, you have to choose the G1 which doesn't make sense, and I spent too much time googling to make sure I had the correct app. So yeah just pick the G1 on the app and you'll be good.

Had to return this because of software failure and the manufacturer not proving standard support for it. At that time I had it, there was no android app to do simple setup, only work on IOS devices(Iphone ONLY, Not ipad) actuall auto tune button didn't work

I'm use to working with full sized gimbals with many accessories attached. Which is why I was interested in the G2X as it boasts being able to hold larger more professional cameras as well as having mounting options for accessories. I went ahead and bought the dual handles as well. But after practicing with it at home and trying to get the product to work with my Sony Fs5 it just isn't practically up to the task. Yes it can be used but I wouldn't say in any real world situation for a professional shoot. I also wasn't able to really attach my follow focus well. Nor could I really use longer lenses with it like I can with my larger gimbals. Really all that it really worked well for was my smaller dslr cameras on wide angle lenses and that's it. The motors aren't as strong as I thought they would be. The materials a great made very strong. The app worked great on my iOS and actually prefer it over others. I just wish it had the goods where it really needs it to be. I tried not to give up on it too fast. I did so extensive testing with it but after the amount of time I gave it if I couldn't get it to work for my more professional application needs then I felt if I could end up getting it to work then it would probably end up being too much of a hassle once I got it in real world. I sadly had to send it back. Bummer.

The Tiltamax Gravity G2X Compact Handheld Gimbal System uses the same technology as the Tiltamax Gravity 3-Axis gimbal to stabilize camera systems but in a smaller, more compact setup. With a maximum payload of up to 8 lbs, this gimbal is ideal for DSLRs, mirrorless cameras, smartphones and GoPros. The Gravity G2X features a 45 degree-angled roll motor, which gives you more room to balance longer camera setups. This angled design also allows for unobstructed viewing of your camera's monitor. The gimbal allows for full 360 degree rotation on the pan and tilt axes as well as 60 degree rotation to the left and right on the roll axis.
Four distinct operation modes are available: pan and tilt follow mode, tilt lock mode, fully stabilized mode and roll lock mode. These modes plus the ability to under sling your camera give you endless possibilities to achieve whatever shot you have in mind. The Gravity G2X is powered off of four 18650 rechargeable batteries which last up to 10 hours of operation when fully charged (batteries not included). A 14.8V DC in/output port at the base of the pan motor allows for alternative ways to power your gimbal and also provides a way to power external accessories through the gimbal itself. A 5V Mini USB port on the tilt motor allows you to easily power the motor for the upcoming Nucleus Nano remote follow focus.
The sliding quick release plate of the Gravity G2X is a standard Manfrotto plate which allows you to quickly and easily slide off of the gimbal and mount to a Manfrotto tripod in no time. Arri Standard Rosette connections on the left and right side of the gimbal allow you to mount a variety of handles and/or rosette-based accessories to the gimbal. On all of the G2X gimbal arms, a 7-11cm measuring scale makes repetitive balancing a thing of the past. Balance your camera once, remember your marks and repeat with ease each time you need to re-balance the same camera package.
Press the power button on your gimbal three times consecutively to auto calibrate the gimbal, which works to sense the camera payload and then configures the motors to your camera package's ideal operating settings. This auto-calibration quickly sets you up to be operation-ready in a few seconds but you can further customize your settings with the Tilta Assistant App. This app allows you to adjust each motor's torque, dead zone, acceleration and speed for your specific needs. It also lets you set up a wireless time-lapse mode as well as a way to control the axes of the gimbal remotely. The app also acts as a simple way to wirelessly update the firmware of your Gravity G2X.
