VariZoom has created the world's first lens remote control system for DV camcorders. A true variable speed and manual focus controller, the VZ-Pro-L utilizes the Control-L (LANC) remote jack to control almost any DV camcorder including the Canon XL1, Sony VX-1000 and many others. Now for the first time, owners of these camcorders can use jib arms and tripods, having the same type of remote lens control found on professional broadcast cameras costing thousands more. The combination zoom rocker and speed control dial allows you to vary speeds in a single movement -- smoothly from a slow crawl to fast and then slow again. Also features manual focus control, a "wake-up from standby" switch, a recording light indicator, and a universal tripod/crane mounting clamp.
What it's for...The newly redesigned VZ-Pro-L is the original industrial grade workhorse designed specifically for the popular LANC-ready "prosumer" one piece DV camcorders, including the Sony DSR-200A, VX-1000, VX-2000, TRV-900, PD-150, PD-100A; and Canon's XL1, GL1, Optura and Elura (with docking station).
How it works...The VZ-Pro-L sends zoom, focus and other commands through the camcorder's built-in LANC protocol, which is standard in most every DV camcorder on the market today.
Where it connects...Just plug the controller cable into your camcorder's Control-L (LANC) jack. That's all there is to it! Does not require any modification or alteration to your camera. Use The VZ-Pro-L hand-held, or clamp the controller to your tripod pan handle.
